daily average high range from -14c to 26c record extremes are -45c and 40.6c.
Not uncommon for the temperature to reach over 30c and very humid during the summer (I'm assuming the humidity won't matter
my friend says my city is more like zone 2b and 3a is under the old canadian ratings.
this stuff is confusing yo.

Well... This seems to say no. There is a ton of good info in that link, by the way. But, this Erowid link seems to have successful outdoor grows in Michigan, Ohio, and Montana, which all reside primarily in zones outside the areas suggested. I don't know, so don't listen to this part, but it seems to me that if you snap to, and get that bed established as soon as possible, you may be able to pull some mushies off of a plot that is properly maintained.
Here is a link to the Shroomery woodlover section if you haven't seen it yet.

Good luck on your grow.

What are you looking at? -45C? Because they can withstand around -20F for a little while. Here I can look forward to nights that dip to -35F (-40C = -40F, by the way), so I remain hopeful, but Canadian interior? uh... dunno?

It would be really helpful when asking about zones, to include a weather zone map in your initial post. It's hard to ask people to leave the site to search the internet for a zone map, to get your answer for you.
Azures and P. cyans reqiure an extend period around 12C/55F after an initial cold snap nearly to freezing, in order to pin. If your weather goes from very warm to very cold in a matter of weeks, they'll freeze out before they fruit. They do best in temperate coastal regions. RR

If you cover with woodchips real well, you might be able to keep it alive. I would still try.

I'll try but I have no doubt in my mind that it will be a failure.
Yeah RR, I should have done that, wasn't thinking. My brain is scattered everywhere lately, bio exams, misc hobbies.
Quitting smoking which coincedently means I can't drink or do drugs for a while doesn't help my brain function either.
Forgive me

what are you talking about? Cover it in the summer?
Like RR said, you need a long wet transition to winter. Not a quick dry one that

the woodchips are for insulation in the winter
this is basically a fail miserable experiment if I ever do it.
I actually highly doubt ill do it because I'll just waste time and resources.
