Listen to Ozric Tentacles. It's the best stuff I've heard.

Ozric Tentacles. One song can warp around so much that you might think you're listening to another track. If you hear some, and it's not to your liking, try listening to different albums, as they vary a bit.
Also, Sphongle is great, and I see you mentioned that.

Bardo Pond (psychedelic drone) White Rainbow (psychedelic ambient) Jackie-O Motherfucker (a psychedelic sampling of virtually all styles) Acid Mother's Temple (psychedelic ROCK) Dungen (ditto ^) Flashbulb (somewhat similar to AFX and Squarepusher) Four Tet (electronic producer and musician...in a league of his own...and definitely psychedelic) Black Moth Super Rainbow (synthed out goodness. the album featuring The Octopus Project is especially good) Spiritualized (psychedelic AWESOMENESS) Spacemen 3 (the band which eventually became Spiritualized. psychedelic shoegaze, or some call it 'space rock'..whatever) Broadcast (psychedelic pop/chillout) Amon Tobin (electronic..very trippy and very well executed. I'd actually recommend just about anything the Ninja Tunes label puts out) The Olivia Tremor Control (Psych-pop/rock. how did i almost forget to mention them!?)
most all of that stuff is modern music. As far as older psychedelic albums go, my all time favorite would be The Who's "The Who Sell Out". Alexander Skip Spence's "Oar" is another favorite. As is Jefferson Airplane's "After Bathing At Baxters"
Also, 'Nirvana' was originally the name of a psychedelic UK band in the 60's, and they were actually quite good!
ok that's enough outta me for now.
peace...

you may want to be strapped down if you listen to amon tobin, recommend with the lights off while you begin peaking with a very decent stereo system. Enjoy and good luck.

Artist - Album Boards of Canada - The Campfire Headphase Christ. (he worked with Boards of Canada early early on) Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. Radiohead - In Rainbows Pink Floyd (I really don't think I have to say that, but just in case)
Can anyone recommend songs that sound like "Speak to Me/Breathe" by Pink Floyd and "A Drug Score - Part 1 (Acid Spill)" by Tomoyasu Hotei and Ray Cooper. It's from the scene in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas where HST is having talking about being in the Matrix when he spilled acid on the sleeve of his red woolen shirt.
I love the sound of those two songs. And to me, that's how acid can be described in musical terms.
