Yeah, based on your own opinion and nothing else. Are you god? Are you the ultimate judge on what "should" or "shouldn't" be?
How dare thy!
I was just saying meditation is good. I don't assume you to be tripping on shrooms everyday therefore you should work on practicing it sober...
I agree as I've been meditating for 5 years. But personally I think the combination of shrooms and meditation leads to a much more profound vision than if one were to only meditate.

Iv been really interested in meditating, but when I sit and try to concentrate, I find it really hard to keep my mind clear. Thoughts seem to run in and out of my head no matter how hard I try. Whats the best way for me to try to meditate? What exactly does meditation do? Im doing this all sober, im trying to stay clean so I can find a job.

Maybe try going for a jog before you meditate and stretching, or make sure you're not slouching too much. Basically meditation is used to clear your mind of all thoughts and bring your focus into the body and your surroundings in the present. Once you start making progress you'll realize how chaotic and disruptive your mind usually is and how much joy is available to you just by quieting the mind.
Also, you shouldn't have to "try hard". Meditation is for relieving stress, so if you're doing anything that is tensing up your mind or body then you aren't meditating, you are doing something else. Just focus on breath that expands your body, relax all your muscles and then focus inwards and feel the energy in your body and around your body.

Stonedgnome - You cannot clear your mind. Nor can you stop thoughts from arising. Thoughts arise, and that IS your mind. If you try to stop thoughts from arising, you will be using your mind to do so. But that is not your self, you are not mind, you have a mind. To be constructive though, I will say please do try. Meditation is at its core inquiry. It is meant to return you to your original state, which is without-mind and without-form. Which is not to say you do not have a mind or form, simply that what you are is neither. Meditation will remove the obstacles to knowledge of your true self, which will lead you to contentment and wisdom. Ask yourself, "to whom are these thoughts arising" I will relate a story from Zen. A man was sitting under a waterfall. A Master happened to walk by and asked the man "What are you doing?" The man answered "Contemplating mind". To that the Master asked "Who is contemplating, and what is the mind that is contemplated". The man stood and bowed to the master. Hope that helps you. I would say also to others that any state you happen to achieve either through hallucinogens or meditation for that matter, is itself only and "altered" state and therefor not permanent or your true state of Being.

That's cool chronic, I did 4Gs this past saturday-fucking amazing time as well! I saw blue spades and red hearts everywhere. It was way cool. I was so fucked up, I didn't even know if my eyes were opened or closed.
Too bad my girl doesn't like to trip in high doses- anything above 2.0Gs for her- she's a lightweight.

The best way is to just concentrate on breathing...deep breathes going into your lungs, holding it in comfortably, then breathing far out....
Also remember the simple fact that ANYONE can attain Nirvana (which is indescribable so only you will know if you have felt it)
People generally dont like to see others reach such heights so people will disbeleive you, and try and tell you what you felt was not Nirvana but you are the only person who needs to beleive. Remember anyone can get there, everyone is already there, you cannot describe it, all you need to do is remember and be free from ALL attachment
