do you ever think, like really think about how much we don't know about our universe, we don't know why we are here, how we were created, or anything? how crazy is it that i'm alive in such a huge universe. seriously what the fuck.
and why are we wasting away our lives. work is prison. am i the only one else who sees past all this bullshit of everyday life.
nothing matters in the long run anyways, so fuck the norm, lets do it like the old days and start a tribe, take care of each other, live off the earth, and be good back to it.
pass the peace pipe chief.

We exist to play our part, and we can do nothing less and nothing more. Try to enjoy the ride and not get too carried away when it gets ugly.

You aren't the only one that feels the pull.. though technology is improving. Soon most of our electricity will come directly from the sun, hemp will provide the fibers for almost everything and Love will radiate from the hearts of everyone. The human tribe is coming.
Unfortunately, 'soon' is a relative term.

Fucking hippie. Solar energy will provide for only a fraction of our energy needs. WW3 is almost inevitable in the next 25. More people are going to die in one day than all other world wars combined. Take your naiveness elsewhere. Technology is going to be more powerful than you can even imagine. The law of accelerating returns. Singularity. Bioengineering. Quantum computing. You have no idea.

I contest your opinion of it only being able to provide of a fraction of our energy consumption. The current form of capturing solar energy.. yeah, you're right. But, as you know, most things change exponentially/telescopically. I can't guarantee it, but efficiency of solar devices will likely follow the same trend. I also have faith in the new generation. Things look bleak, yes, but anything can happen.

Photovoltaics are just not efficient enough now, or in the foreseeable future, to provide a lot of energy. I think we will need to use a combination of wind, solar, nuclear, and geothermal energy. Look at Iceland. They've got the right idea.

I also want to talk about the possible shifting of the poles in 2012. I don't believe in that prophetic nonsense, but the Mayans had a very accurate calendar and were able to predict solar events well into the future. They noticed how rare it was for the Earth, Sun, and center of the galaxy to align (it happens once every 28,000 years) and accordingly predicted this to happen December 21st, 2012. This event could shift the poles. It could bring about the ending of civilization or at least the ending of the way that we currently think.

haha, almost inevitable? you say that technology is going to be more powerful than you can even imagine yet you don't think we will have solar power... Maybe if you were not so naive you would realize that people have been predicting the end of the world since it began.

Ok. In 25 years we'll check and see how much solar energy we are using. I bet it's less than 30 % of the total. I'm not predicting the end of the world, either. Read my post. I said a global war. A global war with countries have that have nuclear arms. It's not going to be good.

Certainly seems that way.
I'm honestly willing to believe people have become smart enough since WWII that another world war (or indeed any total war between major powers) will never happen again. I reiterate, maybe I'm an optimist, but I'm comfortable with that.

You consider work to be prison, I wouldn't recommend attempting to live off the earth.
If you adopt a cynical point of view about the universe, you will experience a shitty universe. It's up to you to do what you want. If you feel like you are wasting your life, then stop.

to those guys talking about technology i would suggest to start thinking about your body and your brain as technology. and it's state of the fucking art. we (our souls) just havn't learned how to use this technology to it's full potential yet. this mindset and understanding will steer you into a more realistic vision of the future.
