Penicillium contam question

Couple of jars got contam'd and were removed and isolated until it was positive there was a contam present. The jars were WBS and infected after 95% colonization. Contam was light blue and covered a couple of jars almost completely after a few days of isolation. (I don't have pics, the jars were tossed). I am guessing it is Penicillium since it was blue and happened after they were colonized leading me to belive the spores were airborn and not in the substrate and Penicillium has very small spores.
I can assume that there were spores in the air in my incubator. It was completely disinfected as were all of the remaining jars (outside of them). There are no signs of more contamination on any of them.
Ok now that the background is out of the way, my question. Since there is a good chance that the spores were airborn and some probably passed through the Tyvek into the remaining jars but just didn't get a foothold, should I soak the jars in a light H2O2 solution before breaking up and casing to kill any mold spores on the myc to prevent them from germinating in the casing?

It won't do any good, so don't bother. It will only weaken the mushroom mycelium. Penicillium will colonize brf or grains much easier than manure or compost.
Penicillium spores are so small, they will also travel right through filters, so there's a good chance you'll lose some more jars. Using an 'incubator' compounded the problem by holding them all together in a closed space.
If you removed the jars before the mold got to the top, you might be OK. RR

Ok, thanks for the tip.
Only 2 jars were overtaken by mold but both were removed when there was only 5-10% contam on them. A few other jars showed small dime sized blueing on them so they were removed. They have been kept around 50-60 degrees since then and those spots haven't spread at all. I will probably end up just pitching them in the end but my project is to mess around and see if I can actually get rid of the contam since it isn't actually thriving.

I'm curious how you're going to 'get rid of the contam'. Penicillium has white mycelium. Only the spores are green. No matter what happens inside the jar, the spores are still there. Toss them out. RR
