Martha humidity

My friend has a martha closet going right now and she is having trouble keeping the humidity up. The temp sits around mid 70s and the humidity sticks to any where between 75-81. She'd like it to be somewhere in the 90s. Right now for humidity she has a one gallon cool mist running at full humidity setting and the lowest fan setting (my friend figured it would still circulate new air in but at the same time not so fast as to push the moisture out. My friend also has a pan of perilite sitting at the bottom of the closet saturated with water. The cool mist is connected to the bottom with the air holes at the top. Right now my friend has a cool mist and a heater running. Obviously this needs to be somewhat covert so my friend would like to try and not hook something else up. Is there anyway to get the humidity up without adding a Ultra sonic?

That might be it. I don't see impeller anywhere on there. Crap.

sounds like your friend is using the wrong type of cool mist. is it an impeller type? google Vicks V400 for an example of 1 impeller type

If the heater is on the inside it might mess up the humidity. I use a tray of perilite and a cool mist on 5 minutes an hour and the humidity is good.

That's the wrong kind of humidifier. You won't get over about 75% with one of those. Take it out of the martha and run it in the room it's located. Get an impeller type cool mist to place inside. A tub of perlite filled with water is fairly useless as well. Drain out all the water, and then the perlite can help. Fill any unused shelf space with trays of rinsed, then well drained perlite. I keep my mini-greenhouse above 95% with vicks 400 impeller type humidifiers, and trays of perlite. RR
