I have been smoking pot on an off for about 6 years since high school. I went to college on a Track scholarship at a small div 1 school. I have had to figure out when there were tests an stop using at least a few weeks before. We are tested several times a year 1 NCAA team test and 3 University tests. Given that i our season for track is 9 months im usually working out everyday. It doesn't take long when i decide to quit for the effects to completely wear off an forget the last time Ive smoked. I find no trouble sleeping when quitting no adverse effects of any kind. Actually i find it helps a lot when working out especially on the days that i feel like complete shit and i don't want to go. Smoke a bowl and go run 10 200's at 28 sec with 60 sec break between each. Its not fun but the smoke gives me courage.=0 I got a scholarship for HIghjump and Longjump. ive jumped 2.12 meters in highjump and 7.64 in longjump. Another interesting thing is i also have to get in depth physicals on my health twice a year with bloodwork and im in perfect health except for a few cavities. Just thought id share that.

Other than that line being complete and utter bullshit. How many more people do you know that have had drinking problems that are way worse than someone wanting to smoke a J everyonce in a while. You hear more about domestic abuse due to alcohol. Pot doesn't come close to that. Also you hear about more people dieing from ciggs and alcohol alone than pot. You also hear about drunk driving accidents all the time and how hard they are coming down on drinking checkpoints. Last time ive heard anything about anything going wrong with pot well.. i haven't heard anything yet haha. Pretty personal thing but my father used to be a bad alcoholic and constantly started shit in the household and just was very unstable. It was quite the sad thing to see. I smoke pot quite a bit. And i just relax and enjoy life. I dont swell up with negativity.

^Agreed
The most noticeable withdrawal symptoms i've had from quitting pot were the usual insomnia and irritability, but that stops after a few days...nothing terrible
I do have to wonder though...for the day tokers, do they get insomnia also or is it just for the night-owls?

I think it is a fairly common symptom regardless of when one smokes. The insomnia lasts a week or two, at most, and isn't really that bad. I found that a Benadryl an hour before bed, during the worst (not that the worst is bad), works well.

Either one of two things:
1) they are fabricating results 2) they are testing people that mixed tobacco and cannabis

Just out of curiosity, has anyone actually read the study?
I'd be curious if anyone has any specific criticisms of the report. Or didn't anyone actually read it?:)

im on day 4 of not smoking weed. i was a heavy bud smoker for nearly 5 years. smoking everyday, never missing a day.
im having shitty withdrawl symptoms. basically uncontrollably throwing up and dry heaving. my body is getting rid of all this extra shit and phlegm. its not fun, especially when you have a bunch of acid in ur head and are throwing up snot for 30 minutes in the bathroom and can hardly breath. plus restlessness at night. waking up and not being able to get back to sleep.
im tripping right now, i dont know if anything i just said makes much sense, but im still going to click continue and then submit.
