Inoculated w/ 2 year old syringes

I had some syringes left over from my first grow and decided to make another run. I inoculated 12 pint jars of WBS with 3 different type of syringes. I was a bit iffy on whether the jars who colonize/contam because, as the post says, the syringes are about 2 years old. They went through a few different temperature changes as I moved twice in the past two years but for the most part were stored at room temperature in a dark place.
Anyway... it's been about 5 days since inoculation and I decided to check on them to see what the deal is. The jars that were contamed were all from the same strain of syringe. The rest were colonizing as I hoped. My preparation and sterile techniques were done to the T so I could only imagine that the one syringe was shot.
Either way I expected something like this to happen so it wasn't a big deal. I'm just happy they all didn't contam. Plan B was to just use the new syringes that are on its way.
I guess this is a more informative post than anything. Rather than throw out syringes that are old, just give a chance. The only question I have is I decided to inoculate 2 jars with 1 syringes (approx. 5 cc's). Those aren't colonizing as fast as the other 5 jars that I inoculated with 1 syringes. Any reasoning behind that?

i have a syringe from sporeworks that was made in '04 that is still clean and viable. I am actually going to expand it in a tech that i am writing right now

water content is why its colonizing a lil slow but it might be ok, just slow. I use 2 cc for each qt jar. good luck with your grow

You think because I inject 5 cc's into the jar, I upped the water content too much? Or maybe b/c of the strain type (Mazatapec)? All the jars were soaked, simmered, and PCed during the same run so theoretically they should have same water content as my jars that are colonizing at the expected rate.

5 cc's would not hurt anything. I have used 35cc's on 3 cups of birseed

I too inoculated my jars with ~2 year old syringes and the same thing happened. I had 3 strains (EQ/cambodian/B +) and every single jar of B+ contamed and all of the other ones colonized fine.

AFOAF just recently used a print that was over 4 years old and it worked beautifully.
