2nd timer: noobish questions
    #7931542 - 01/25/08 07:04 PM (16 years, 7 days ago)

Hello. Newish grower here, almost ready to start my second grow. My first was basically an utter failure, with 9 out of 10 jars falling to contamination (a LOT of reasons for that) but I did get one good dose out of it, and it changed my life. But back then, I was a teenager growing in my parent's house. Live and learn.

Anyways my questions are as such:
1. My only bag of vermiculite has been sitting open in my garage for awhile. Should I buy a new bag just to be safe or will my pressure cooker take care of all possible contaminants?
2. I somehow remember hearing something about this and for that I apologize for posting such a question here, but can I stack jars in a pressure cooker? I'm assuming I can't but I gotta be sure.

Well thanks for your time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. your pressure cooker will kill every living organism in the jar. don't let that verm go to waste.
2. stack away. no harm there.

hey thanks fish42 for the help, the info is very reassuring. but I've got one more question: since I'm essentially a beginner grower (it's been years since my failed first grow) I'm just going to be doing regular PF-Tek cakes with no casing. that being said, when the inevitable noob yield question gets asked for the billionth time, people usually reply that average yields are 3-7 dry grams per cake. is that per cake per flush or per cake total, all flushes included?

per cake per flush abouts. if your doing straight cakes with no casing then make sure to dunk and roll at least.
