It has been raining here since Monday, and today I noticed these shrooms in area behind my house. I don't know if they are all the same species. So.....
Species #1:

Also noticed there was another smaller one next to it.

Habitat: Found in backyard.
Gills: Yellow - porous.
Stem: Whitish with brown streaks/spots, solid (not hollow). 1in wide.
Cap: Brown to gray, smooth, had some sticky gel/snot stuff, 3 inches in diameter.
Spore print color: Unknown at this time (printing in progress).
Bruising: Yellow, a bit darker yellow than the gill.
Location: Central California USA
Species #2:

This was found right next to the big one-- you can see it on the left side of the lighter in this pic

I will wait till it matures before I pluck it, so I don't have any more info on it.
Also saw these pins about a foot away.(Species #3 ?)

#1 looks like some kind of bolete and species 2 and 3 remind me of pine spikes.
but those are just guesses. Im sure #1 is a bolete though.

I agree, number two is a pine spike. Number one looks like a slippery jack.

I looked up Suillus pungens. And that seems to be right.
I guess I should have mentioned that there is a pine tree about 3-6 feet away. Sorry.
I don't know about the Chroogomphus vinicolor yet, but you are probably right. Will update as it grows.
You guys are fast. Thanks
PS. Do you guys know all this by memory or do you look it up?

Memory.
But these were easy ones. The harder ones we sometimes have to dig for.

i remember alan picked a bunch of pine spike while we were in GGP one time. i allways thought they were so cool looking!
can pine spikes be used as dye mushrooms? The purple they take on is beautifull.
