I just got off the phone with verizon cause i had a slow speed on my wireless laptop. Every wireless computer in my house is fine other than mine. He said that the reason my connection was slow is because I have too many processes running. He said to contact HP and they will walk me though which ones to delete and which ones to keep running. Anybody know which ones of these I can take off without fucking anything up to get me back on the wireless connection?

thank you guys so much for any help. I would really rather not take it to a shop or sit on the phone for hours with a hindu for such a small problem! Thanks again for any help:mushroom2:

Well just off the top of my head.. you could take off:

Googeupdater.exe
iTunesHelper
ehtray.exe
SNDsrvc - this is norton. I advise you uninstall norton and get something that doesn't suck... like Avast! or AVG.
CCapp - also norton
CCsetmgr - also norton
iPodService

you also have more services running but you didn't scroll down. You could probably disable half of those services and be fine. You can check what services are critical to your computer running here - http://www.processlibrary.com/

In order to keep these from running everytime you start up you will have to disable them on startup... go to Start > Run > type msconfig... go to the startup option and disable all the non-essential services for starters.

Make sure you have all the latest updates for SP2.

Reboot.

Run a free antivirus scan here and here - http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/solutions/activescan/?
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
http://www.spywareinfo.com/xscan.php

Also you may have some malware and/or trojans that are slowing your computer down.

Get spybot - http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10122137.html?part=104443&subj=dlpage&tag=button
And Ad-Aware - http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-2007/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=69274&subj=dlpage&tag=button
Xcleaner - http://www.xblock.com/trial.php
