What happens if you just live in the hood? You go get some cigarettes and a burger and get harassed via post? This is some bullshit profiling, I mean goddamn. This is the worst, least accurate profiling ever. Someone should sue for harassment

Then they got stakeouts for "loitering" and "public urination"???

Man, that's poor use of taxes, catching crackheads pissing behind dumpsters, who gives a fuck? Stop wasting our money, goddamnit

Obviously you have never been to a ghetto.

I'm all for them cleaning up that shit.

Crack is really the only market that I have noticed where people sell so openly on the streets.

My aunt is hard up for that shit, and frankly, it's a disgusting drug and lifestyle.

I'm all for someone doing whatever they want in their own homes and shit, but you start taking your sales to the street, and problems arise.

Clean up the riff raff.

I agree with you too.

It actually looks like this is the kind of inexpensive, relatively non-intrusive action by the police that could lead to results without increasing violence or simly arresting people over and over for using or buying drugs.

Also, it's shitty for regular people who live in neighborhoods with a lot of drug activity. They get caught in the crossfire, have to put up with dirt and shady characters all over the place and trying to raise their kids to have something better and not get caught up in the streets. So yes, I believe that cleaning up the trash is necessary, although I believe that legalizing and regulating drugs is the only way this shit will stop.

But maybe it will keep some of the less hardcore, more impressionable users from coming to this neighborhood to score.

If we are going to put crack dealers behind bars, we should also put cigarette dealers behind bars.

Cocaine and crack kill 5000 people per year in the USA, while cigarettes kill 437000 per year.

Yeah, it's a really hypocritical situation. But the thing is, humans will not stop using crack or tobacco because of man-made law. Natural law over-rules written law in all cases.

Now that crack and tobacco exist as drugs, they will never be pushed out of existence again by law or anything else. Collective human memory will not allow them to disappear completely. The only way we can lessen the damage is through regulation of crack purchase, and provisioning of treatment for addicts. The only way we can clean up the crack situation is to stop treating addicts like animals, and let them clean themselves up. (They should still be held fully accountable for any crimes they commit to get their crack money of course.)

But the first thing we should do is take the power away from the pushers, and get the crack into established dealerships where our children cannot get their hands on it so easily.

You're an idiot, and no obviously you've never been to a "ghetto". Yes, that's right your aunts a junkie so go bust up and harass and profile an entire side of town, threaten them and call them criminals just because they LIVE in an area where there is a drug market supported by people mainly from outside that community, like your junkie aunt.

Give me a break, what a cretin.
