TImer Mod Success

I just performed a timer mod like the one in the Nook's archive. It worked great! I originally bought one of these:
 Intermatic's TN 811c (Available everywhere)
Originally a timer that had 30 minute intervals for a total of 48 settings in a 24 hour day.
Now, post mod, 1 interval is approx. 1 min 50 secs or 785? settings in a 24 hour day (multiple cycles) .Now, 24 hours on the timer's dial (one full revolution) equals approx. 87 minutes. Now I can get much more shorter on/off intervals without having to order a digital or cyclic timer online. This and another mech. Intermatic are the only locally available.
Just thought I'd show that its still possible. Only difference between the new timers is there are no screws to remove. Just pry the plastic housing apart at the plastic rivets.
Here is the original tek
Enjoy!

Nice job man! Hell $10 versus $130.

Thanks, since I saved all that money I'm even closer to being able to afford a 600 watt HID plant light. Priorities, priorities...
Timer has made it through the night working at ~7 minutes on, ~23 off.
Getting the shims the right length is the hardest. Also becareful not to mess up the tab that blocks the lower gears to much, since the spindle for the top gear sits in the tab. If it's bent out of wack to much you might have problems with the top gears lining up/binding.
Anybody else tried this with other, newer models?

The timer in the pic is the same one I just bought for my ultrasonic fogger, only I'm pretty sure mine has 15 minute intervals?....either way very interesting tek.
I'm going to wait to test run my fogger/fan set-up to find if I can reach a good constant Rh level with the timer's stock 15 minute intervals before I do this.

Bump...
Yeah, I have learned in order to do this successfully (even after following a pictured guide), u'll need to have a bunch of the timers at hand. U might succeed in the first try, but it's definitely not easy. One advice: always remove the wires first connecting the motor to the prongs or else you will run into some trouble.
P.s. the intermatic brand for some reason neglects to use screws (probably to cut down costs of production) and is pretty much jammed shut, unless you can pry it open taking care not to damage it too much along the way...
neway, it's definitely a time consumer and needs rigorous development.
