grossed out by dunking.
Is it crucial to a large flush? I'm spraying them quite a bit every single day. Much difference btwn the two methods?

how does dunking your cake in water gross you out? I think there would be a huge difference between a 24 hour cold dunk and just misting. However I have never just misted my cakes so I have no way of actually comparing the 2 methods.

word to the wise:
don't bother spraying your cakes. Just dunk them. I kept spraying the hell out of my cakes, and they kept drying out every few hours-even with 80% humidity.
Ended up dunking all my cakes. Seems like the only way. Hope this helps a future mycologist

That's why you need to keep the humidity in the 95-100% range.

my cakes are a dirty blue, and have some holes in them- I guess where the dry verm once was before I brushed it off.
It is gross.
I've read multiple times by experts that 82-92% humidity is "A okay", and recently had a pretty decent flush.

Your cakes are probably blue because they are shrinking from dehydration.
