difference between brf and just brown rice
    #7925860 - 01/24/08 07:11 PM (16 years, 8 days ago)

i have everything needed to start my first grow. i have brown rice but want to ground it into a flour. ive heard the results are better that way. neone use just plain brown rice and then used flour. how big of a difference is it. i know all u need is a blender but i dont have one and neither does neone that i know. it find it somewhat comical that i found all ingredients now i cant get a fucking blender. lol

im guessing that the flour is just better because you have a larger surface area. makes it easier to colonize i would suppose

I doubt it if anything it might affect colonization times. Kind of like when I use Wild Bird Seed, a lot of people suggest removing the black seed that will conveniently float to the top during soaking, however if you dont remove it, it just doesnt colonize. but its not overly important.

A coffee grinder or food processor is plenty big for making a dozen BRF/verm jars. You can usually find them at thrift stores for $5 or less if you're really hurting on $$. If you're making enough jars that you need a blender to grind your rice, you should look into working with whole grains and buying a PC instead of a blender.
