There are words to click on for more in the link above. Wonder if any of this is going to come up in the debate tonight.
Introduction
America became the greatest, most prosperous nation in human history through low taxes, limited government, personal freedom and a belief in sound money. We need to return to these principles so our economy can thrive again. When enacted, my plan will provide both short-term stimulus and lay the groundwork for long-term prosperity.
Other candidates talk a lot about stimulus packages, but my record stands alone. I have fought for these measures for years as a member of Congress and will make them a top priority as president.
Ron Paul, a 10-term Republican congressman from Texas's 14th District, is currently the ranking member of the House Financial Services Committee's Subcommittee on Domestic and International Monetary Policy, Trade, and Technology. He has been named "Taxpayers' Best Friend" for 10 consecutive years by the National Taxpayers' Union. Ron Paul is also the author of several books on monetary policy and economics.
The Four-Point Plan
Tax Reform: Reduce the tax burden and eliminate taxes that punish investment and savings, including job-killing corporate taxes. Spending Reform: Eliminate wasteful spending. Reduce overseas commitments. Freeze all non-defense, non-entitlement spending at current levels. Monetary Policy Reform: Expand openness with the Federal Reserve and require the Fed to televise its meetings. Return value to our money. Regulatory Reform: Repeal Sarbanes/Oxley regulations that push companies to seek capital outside of US markets. Stop restricting community banks from fostering local economic growth.
1. Tax Reform
Eliminate Taxes on Dividends and Savings. The basis of capitalism is savings, and Americans who do so should be rewarded. Pass HJ Res. 23 to encourage savings over consumption.
Repeal the Death Tax. Attacking small businesses and breaking up family farms smothers growth and kills jobs. Pass H.R. 2734 to make the Bush tax cuts permanent.
Cut Taxes for Working Seniors. Grandmothers and grandfathers working to make ends meet should keep all the fruits of their labor. Pass H.R. 191 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the inclusion in gross income of Social Security benefits.
Eliminate Taxes on Social Security Benefits. That money belongs to seniors, not the government. They paid into the system for a lifetime, and they should be free to spend every penny as they see fit. Pass H.R. 192 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the 1993 increase in taxes on Social Security benefits.
Accelerate Depreciation on Investment. We need to help companies grow and create jobs. Pass H.R. 4995 and amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to reduce corporate marginal income tax rates.
Eliminate Taxes on Capital Gains. Investment should be embraced and rewarded. Pass H.J. Res 23 (The “Liberty Amendment”), proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States relative to abolishing personal income, estate, and gift taxes and prohibiting the United States Government from engaging in business in competition with its citizens.
Eliminate Taxes on Tips. The single parents and working students who earn their income chiefly through tips deserve to keep all of their money. This tax on "estimated income" is unfair and should be ended. Pass H.R. 3664 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide that tips shall not be subject to income or employment taxes.
Support Mortgage Cancelation Relief Act. Working families who lost their homes should not be punished a second time with a big IRS bill. Pass H.R. 1876 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to exclude from gross income of individual taxpayers discharges of indebtedness attributable to certain forgiven residential mortgage obligations.
2. Spending Reform
Reduce Overseas Military Commitments. Our bases and troops should be on our soil, bolstering our economy. It's time to stop subsidizing our business competitors in Europe, Japan and South Korea.
Freeze Non-Defense, Non-Entitlement Spending at Current Levels I vote against all bloated, pork laden spending bills and will veto them as president.
3. Monetary Policy Reform
Televise Federal Open Market Committee Meetings. An institution as powerful as the Federal Reserve deserves full public scrutiny.
Expand Transparency and Accountability at the Federal Reserve Pass H.R. 2754 to require the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System to continue to make available to the public on a weekly basis information on the measure of the M3 monetary aggregate and its components.
Return Value to Our Money. Legalize gold and silver as a competing currency. Level the long-term boom and bust business cycle by passing H.R. 4683, which would repeal provisions of the federal criminal code relating to issuance coins of gold, silver, or other metal for use as current money and making or possessing likenesses of such coins.
4. Regulatory Reform
Repeal Sarbanes/Oxley. It has seriously wounded our capital markets and helped make the UK the financial center at our expense. Ending these misguided regulations would bring jobs flooding back to the United States
Pass H.R. 1049 to reform Sarbanes-Oxley and reduce the burden it places on small businesses.
Repeal or Remove Costly and Unnecessary Federal Regulations. Neighbors know best how to help their neighbors. We need to make it easier for community banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions to better serve their communities and to help people in these communities get access to credit and capital. Pass H.R. 1869 to enhance the ability of community banks to foster economic growth and serve their communities, boost small businesses, increase individual savings, and for other purposes.

He has a strategic sense of timing. This man knows how to campaign. The economy wasn't as much of a vital issue before the primaries, as it is now (people are painfully aware of the fact that we are heading for trouble).

He has been in all of his campaign speeches. unfortunately, none of them have been televised.
He shouldve released this to the press months ago. Not even sure if this is going to be released. Someone found it on his web site and the home page doesn't even have a link to it.
This would help to calm down many misunderstandings about him.
They need to see that they will get their social security and Medicare. He just wants the youth to be able to opt out. No biggie and a great idea!!!
He is not going to abolish the Federal Reserve Banks or fed notes. He wants to but he knows you can't just do that and he won't. He wants more transparency with the Federal Reserve, meetings and hearings televised, and more accountability. He says it is not right that there is no means for holding the Federal Reserve banks accountable for anything they do and that Americans should be allowed to become more a part of the process of their decision making.
He also wants to bring back a currency backed by hard assets to compete with fed notes. he believes between the two, the Fed will become History in no time by the will of the people opting for their competition.
Some may still be panicking about bring troops home from around the world. They need to know that Paul strongly supports defence building bills and defence spending. He actually wants to spend more in National defence areas then what is currently be spent, as well as on VA hopsitals and bringing the POWs in Asia home. He wants our troops here boosting OUR economy and protecting OUR borders, and OUR air space.
The spending cuts on bringing troops back here alone, allow for the cut of the federal income tax.
Bringing troops home from around the world wouldn't even realistically happen overnight and he has said that. It'll take a few years to neatly tie up loose ends he has said.
The man is a doctor/surgeon for Petes sake. He practices being methodical and bringing things to tidy closure.
On a side note, I was watching an interview with his wife Carol Paul, done yesterday. She was asked about how Paul feels when he is attacked with with lies. She said, " Oh, Paul doesn't get upset, he just says it's a part of their disease. He is very forgiving."
i thought that was funny.

Take, for example, the fact that Fred Thompson placed higher than Ron Paul in Iowa, but now Fred Thompson is out, and Paul had went on to get more votes than Thompson in other states. He had well enough money that he could have gotten enough votes in Iowa to take third, but why when that money can be used much more effectively further down the road, when some of those candidates wouldn't even be running? He's campaigning straight through to the brokered convention, as he says.

I must say that is impressive and kinda makes me think a little higher of the guy. His war crap is bullshit and so I don't think he can handle our military correctly, though he would make a good VP in my opinion. Thompsons votes will more likely go to Huckabee, well at least the evangelicals will. Had Thompson not been in SC, Huckabee would have beat MCCain. Ron Paul does look smarter than than I originally gave him credit but most of the people I have heard in my area don't like him, or they just think he is the closest thing to a liberal without being democrat that you can be. It seems they can't even believe Huckabee got so far but seem to only consider the election between Romney and McCain. I am out and about all the time and I strike up conversations with random strangers and hand out business cards , etc Everyone wants to talk politics and it drives me nuts. I want to see the results and then we can concentrate on Rep and Dem and the issues in the middle. I live in the North east and different places are different. We are a blue state so there is more democrat hype, I only saw 2-4 Ron Paul signs before the NH Primary. So his marketing stategie sucks and I think God just threw him a bone because he had such a strong plan that it could help boost his support. If it was planned to waste serious time so that he could have one excellent solution to lesser competition, people still remember not seeing him on the other issues which comes off like he must not care. No one is perfect and his publicist well, should maybe be unemployed.

Once again Paul illustrates how he is the only sane person running for President

That's funny, active military personnel seem to disagree with you as Paul has more military donations to his campaign than anyone running.

That's something to take serious note of rizingfire. Every quarter Paul has pulled in more donations from U.S. military personel then any other candidate. Their opinion matters to me as they are the ones serviving in our Military around the world.

I can confirm at least a bit of this. She sent me some stuff to give out to tourists. There are a few rental cars in the area supporting Paul as well.
