The 50/50+ tek is my favorite casing prodecure I've been using it for quite a while now with hydrated lime But, I recently got some gypsum drywall board...

Looks right to me man. I am curious though, about peeps that add gypsum, a myc nutrient, to a casing layer, which ideally is non-nutritious to myc.
I know several respected cultivators advocate gypsum in the casing layer, but I am curious as to it's effect.
Seems like the more nutrients in a casing layer the more prone to overlay the cased substrate will be.

Gypsum will not cause overlay. It contains calcium and sulfur. 'Nutrients' are for plants. Mushrooms eat their food. In the above recipe, anywhere from 1/2 cup to 1 cup gypsum is fine. RR

My understanding is that gypsum acts as an anti clumping agent.

Right, but would the myc eat anything that does not provide the building blocks of growth, aka nutrients?
Is this semantics? Are you saying only plants absorb nutrients? What do humans eat? Isn't the active or beneficial material in any food generically called a nutrient?
Aren't calcium and sulfur "nutrients" that myc needs for healthy fruits? Seems like you are saying the gypsum is not for eating?
Further, if the gypsum is not there for nutrients, then is it's only function for anti-clumping?

gypsum is NOT a nutrient, but a PH buffer. to neutralize the acidity of the peat
