I watched the intro because (a) all of slashdot told me to and (b) because it's Mike Judge. Prior to watching the intro I was led to believe that the remainder of the movie would follow the retarded characters introduced and that the humor was on the same level as Beavis and Butthead. I declined to commit myself to watching any more of it.
Does the movie offer any further social commentary than the intro or just expound on it further?

That was precisely what I expected which is why I didn't watch any further. I gathered that I got the majority of any insight from the 1st 3 minutes of the movie.
The last braindead comedy I watched involved Tom Green and I swore off them since then.

I thought it was alright, but it was no Office Space. IMO Luke Wilson was a bad choice as the lead, but that may just be because I don't like him anyways.

Looking for insight in a movie about social commentary? You either weren't looking at it the right way or don't like to be entertained, or you think your better than 'idiots' who would watch this movie. This movie just flew right over your head, man. And you didn't even watch it...

Whats ironic about a product from a movie becoming a real life product?
Also, is it difficult to type on your high horse?

Patheticism inspires pity, chagrin and remorse... in me, at least. To inspire awe requires something outside the bounds of current human interpretation. The latest thing I could possibly think of, off the top of my head, might be something like, oh, this internet thingie I'm communicating with you on.

The crotch injuries and fart jokes served to define the state of the society at this point. They weren't really meant to be laughed at in and of themselves. Brawndo, as well, is a comment AGAINST the current state of society. The fact that is immediately branded into a real product to be bought and CONSUMED by our society hell-bent on over consumption is rather ironic.

You clearly don't understand what irony actually is. That's OK though. Most people seem not to. Oh well.
Oh yeah, and while Idiocracy was no Office Space, it was a pretty fucking funny movie. Mike Judge FTW.

So why can't you see the movie as a condemnation of our society? That most people are fucking idiots and if we continue on in this way, the movie is a warped interpretation of just how stupid we could get. And it might make you laugh, only if you like to laugh, though. If you don't like to laugh, this movie is not going to do anything for you, and why the fuck would you even watch it or post about it?
Hell you didn't even watch it! Your not qualified to post in this thread.
