a new graft

I just pulled the bandages off today and it was grafted 5 days ago. Its a Loph grafted to a Pilosocereus Azureus........

oh yeah and what I meant by bandaged....
a lot of people us rubber bands to hold the grafts on. I use packaging tape and a piece of paper towel in the middle and I pull it over the top of the graft and tape it to the sides of the pot. To get it off easily I used a razor and cut the tape and lifted it off gently....
oh and the paper towel wrapped around the base was just so I could hold it without stabbing myself with spines while I cut the top off....

yeah the Azureus is good grafting stock so it should work well.
heres a pic of a graft I did about 6 months or so ago....

looks sweet.  may want to try electrical tape, much more stretchy and easy to use :smile:

yeah electrical tape would probably work.
I would even use scotch tape but the packaging tape was right there

all my root grafts took and eventually pupped, but they take FOREVER in my experience..but then, so did all my topped lophs left in the ground to pup....either way its just a waiting game :smile:

my grafts took from 3-9 months to pup....my roots left in ground (lophophora species) took 5 months or more (some are going on 14 months and no pups yet lol)
