striving for a spiritual/introspective trip////advice, suggestions welcome

Most of my friends who do or have done shrooms only really do/did them to get 'fucked up', so to speak. They don't care whether they learn anything about themselves or the world or whatever as long as they are tripping out. It just seems like such a waste to me and I'd rather trip by myself than with someone who wants to be high as shit and hallucinate for no other reason than just to be trippin balls.
The first time I did shrooms I just wanted to experiment and see what it was like. During the trip I found myself wanting to get away from my friends to be by myself just so I could lay there and think. I even started to formulate this idea about how our lives are a dream in someone else's mind and it made perfect sense and I visualized it perfectly.
My plan is to go a forest or this one sick spot my friend showed me in the woods, but by myself so I can connect with nature and be creative, maybe write some music or something. I think the only way I could do this is if I am alone and outside in a natural, peaceful place.
I want to trip in the forest. I will not settle for indoors, it's just to confined and I need to break away from reality and society and let my mind explore. The only problem with going outside is that it is too damn cold, I mean not like subzero temps but on Saturday (when I want to do them) the high will be 32 degrees. Will I be alright outdoors for the entire trip if I am dressed warm? Will I be able to sense the cold? This is the only thing I really have to worry about, because I know I can handle myself and I have a experienced a bad LSA trip so I know what its like and I can calm myself down if need be. A bad trip should not be a problem though (I don't even know why I mentioned it).
I feel like I am mentally ready for another trip. I'm only taking a half 1/8th as last time, but more potent shrooms.
The Plan: -go the the forest -eat shrooms -do whatever I feel like: hike, sit, think, play guitar, listen to music
If you missed my question, will cold weather have any negative effect on my trip if I am dressed properly?
only good vibes in here, positive vibrations

All i can say is that im proud of you. Very valiant effort, i like to see people using psychedelics for internal searching rather than being "fucked up". Im starting to slip in that field, every time i trip i see it more as just a good time. I admire the spirit, keep it that way.

I haven't experienced 32* high temperatures while tripping, but I can't imagine that would be pleasant. I'd suggest waiting until it's warmer, or you are some place warmer. Also, although it sounds like you are ready for this trip, maybe another month or so of waiting could make it all the more meaningful. Perhaps more time to reflect, prepare, whatever

dude, the mushroom trip is what you make it, try reading a book on philosophy, or the tibetan book of the dead, or food of the gods, or any other book that puts you in the right frame of mind.
and good music, but not just good music, it has to be the right music for the situation, as soon as you dose, while you wait for it to come on, do what you can to improve your set and setting for the experience. Dimming the lights if good, as is total darkness with only music as sensory input. Just be creative and don't get frustrated when the spiritual experience doesn't come, because you probably won't get it every time, but it is obtainable. And if you don't have any friends to trip with who aren't in it just to get fucked up, there's nothing wrong with solo trips, they tend to lend themselves to the Entheogenic experience more easily imo. It sounds like your doing it for the right kind of reasons, keep it up.

If you're wearing layered clothes you'll be fine. I'd bring a backpack with:
Sleeping bag/blanket/emergency blanket handwarmers (the lil disposable hotpacks) nalgene bottle/thermos with warm liquid lighter/tinder (if fires are legal in the woods, and you're competent) A compass or gps, if you suck at land navigation. Some bandaids, in case you eat it in the woods. snacks cell phone good intentions.
Go deep in those woods and have a blast, but be prepared because shit can happen to you sober if you're not aware of your surroundings.

thanks guys, I'm glad you guys understand my situtation
I might have to postpone the trip due to work and weather, but I see this only as a good thing. Instead of rushing it and getting excited because I want to do it now, I'll wait for more ideal conditions when the weather is better and I don't have work. It'll make for a much better experience imo.
BTW, where can I get handwarmers? I'm gonna need a whole box lol

For some reason, I find my body doesn't want to keep its internal temperature steady on shrooms. If it's cold, I am really cold. Unfortunately, it doesn't help cool me down in the summer.

pre-load your brain with philosophical ideals on the world. i'm reading "Breaking Open the Head" by Daniel Pinchbeck and SO much of what he's saying i'm agreeing with.
Just go in there with the right intentions and you will be given the knowledge. remember, the best parts about the learning experience are behind your closed eyes, the rest is just molecular scenery...

theres nothing worng with doing it for fun, but if done soley for that purpose time after time one day they will kick your arse for mistreating them and teach you a lesson or two the hard way
im on a 2.5 gram dose of tea right now, just coming up, im going to meditate for 90% of the trip, no music, no tv, just silence.
Thats the way to have a spiritual trip, nature always helps.

Read the Tao Teh Ching.
Go and camp in the woods for 3 nights.
Trip on the 3rd night.
Shave your entire body and paint your-self blue.
Run naked, screaming.... feel the pure ecstasy of the entheogenic state.

Naked running is overrated, especially in cold weather.

mild doses are great with mates, but for strong doses I always had to be by myself. When reality starts spiraling down the kitchen sink I like to deal with it alone.
Have only had spiritual experiences on high doses.

If you're only doing .5 eighth then I'm sure the cold won't bug you; but still I would a) wait till it's warmer, 50 degrees, and b) take more than .5 eighth, maybe 3g or so since you're alone. Who knows you might get bored on a .5 eighth.

Dont go hiking on shrooms in below freezing weather with your guitar.
Its bad for your guitar, and your fingers wont like being exposed like that.
Aside from that, it sounds like a great idea.
there is no telling where the forest may greet you either.
I prefer to never trip outside in the winter, but as strange as it sounds one of my most amazing trips ever was experienced on a 10 degree day in a fucking blizzard with my best friend and one and only trip buddy. We found shelter. Shelter of the "outside kind"...........lol
I wouldnt recommend it, but some people like myself for example, have had very profound experiences in extreemly cold weather and on high doses. Walking indoors after that kind of a brutal/freezing and awsome shit is better than an orgasm.
I honestly dont recommend it though. Inside. Save the outdoors for when nature is not in hibernation, and cold grey.
Dont get me wrong though. It could be amazing, but just dont bring your guitar for sure.
I can imagine a guy lost in the forest who is so cold he can no longer play the guitar saying, "I want to find home, I dont want my guitar to die!" "Guitar, buddy, im sorry but ill definitely come back for you".
No im kidding. You dont want to have to think about your guitar.
In the summer or some sexy weather, I would definitely encourage you to take your guitar on a psychedelic forest adventure if you are moved to play some music from where ever in your mind. You just go find your guitar. Go to where you stashed it Nobody is going to steal your guitar if you are truly in a forest. You can chill your guitar in a good spot. I say this because you dont want to carry a guitar around for an entire trip. You will want to stash it in good weather, and come back for it when you want to go home or play the thing.
Thats my theory about bringing your guitar into the forest while tripping in good weather.
I have done that 2 times when alone, and 1 time with my trip buddy.
its well worth it. For an important trip, I wouldnt mess with my guitar if it was cold outside. I actually have not touched the guitar on my most alien and ridiculous trips even though I was inside for those.
Just take a walk. In the forest. Your guitar will be there for you after you watched the sun set and took the long walk back to your cave.
