MIDterms? Does that mean you only have 6 week semesters?
From my experience, if you have a test three weeks in, its a "test". Then again, what do I know? :P

We have 11 weeks a quarter. In almost all classes the midterms aren't really in the middle. They're just tests, I wish they weren't called midterms.

Ok they are called triterms then. We have 2 'midterems' a QUARTER and then a final. Depending on the class of course.
3 of our quarters=2 of your semesters pretty much.

We don't get calculators for physics or cheat sheets. Luckily it's the beginning and we are only doing Coulomb's law. So not too many formulas yet.

Yeah Gumby, Quarters blow my asshole. Classes started January third. I was done December 3 (I think), but I only have one final on the first day of finals. I mean, we still get a good month, but almost all of the time of my break is while my friends are still at school. I really hate the way they set shit up here.

U Washington does them too. Haha, my top two schools both had terrible academic set-ups, I wonder if I really knew what being on a quarter system was like would have changed my application process. RIT does trimesters, it's set up different though, even weirder than the shit we do.

Tonight I have to study for ANOTHER calculus class.
Fuckin differential equations. Not how to differentiate, but actually solve differential equations. Which is hard as fuck.
Like: say y'= the first differentiation of y or "y prime" and y''= the second differentiation of y or "y double prime"
Well we need to solve stuff like:
3y''+10y'+27y=0
That is an easy one.

We did diff. equations too, but I'll be fucked if I remember how to do them now. I can barely remember how to take the derivative of x^2, and I can't even do division shit, I don't remember the rules. Looks like I'll be starting in math 150 when I start taking my math sequence.

I can dig. Since we are on quarters we only take 4 classes on average instead of 5. But yea pure math and science never is a good time. Especcially when you gotta actually create shit for an engineering class.

well no, actually i don't. hence the sarcasm. granted it's hard to detect sarcasm over the net, but i tried to compensate with the grinny face. my course load is fucking stellar this semester. my classes are either common sense, super easy, or rather interesting.

That is true. I am in a Phil class now for a general education class and I HATE it. It is just BS talk that is meaningless.
Math and science is just alot of work. I like it but it is a shitload of work.
Philos and PoliSci courses blow mah asshoe. Fucking pseudo-intellectual wannabe cocks who think they are so fucking brilliant. They're in fucking undergrad, and 21 years old MAX. I mean seriously, do you think they shit you're "coming up" with is new, or even really intelligent? Please, stop trying to outsmart the professor who has degrees from Stanford and Oxford, you're not gonna do it. So yeah, those courses blow. Other non-math and science can be okay. English is alright if you get the right courses.

I have a douche like that in my theology course. "I think.." nobody gives a fuck what you think because as the professor has pointed out you spew the same brainwashed trash as everyone else. I love it when my Jesuit professor proves the pseudo-intellectual religious students wrong. They restore my hope that religion isn't all bad.
Otherwise I have Organic Chem, E&M Physics, Genetics, Music Theory(easy A) and Exploring Catholicism.

Oh I wish I took a film analysis class this semester! I was going to, on queer cinema, but it was like, 6 hours a week and I only get 3 credit hours for it, so I was like, "fuck that." Instead I thought to myself "what's the easiest major there is? Of course, Sociology" So I decided to take a bunch of 100 level sociology classes since I'm finished with everything else and now my semester is pie. Oh yeah, and fuck math

i don't mind the workload for this class. it's really not bad at all. class tues-thurs and recitation immediately afterwards, so it basically takes up my tues-th from 2-5pm. but the first two hours of it is spent watching a movie. a different movie each tues and thurs. it's fucking badass. we've watched the godfather 1 and 2, the graduate, and this coming tuesday is fight club.
plus, we have a movie homage project, which'll be fun as shit. it's definitely my favorite class right now. i speak up in recitations, make insightful comments (or at least i hope they are), and the other people in recitation seem rather cool too. it's fun stuff.

I have been procrastinating like MAD. This sucks. At least it is not until 230 tommorow so I got some time to study beforehand.
My roomate is in the same class with the same professor as well but in the 12:30 lecture. I'm in the 2:30 lecture.
So he is going to tell me what is on the exam and hopefully the prof doesn't change it up too much between classes.

Yea, contrary to what I thought, my 5th calculus course was hard.
I'll have a W(withdrawal) on my transcript, but it doesn't affect my gpa at all so I figure it is worth not having the D or F.
Now I am studying for Physics- Waves...woot.

I had my mid-term for my James Joyce class today. 30 question exam on Dubliners.
I think I did alright.

I have a 2.76 gpa as we speak. I am in 5th quarter of college. I will be here for a total of 12-15 quarters depending. Is it possible to raise my gpa to above a 3.0?
A 2.76 is absolute SHIT and I feel like such a peice of shit for having a 2.76. I can do so much better.

No offense, but if you want to be an engineer you should be able to figure that out.
Midterms...
I had a physics test last week that I smoked! Way above average on that one. On tuesday I had two tests back to back, math (which I did ok) and then programming (which I did great on). The real hard one is on friday though, quantum physics. Those tests are like a mental curb stomp.
Nevertheless, just keep on truckin

Ah, but I am a lazy engineer so I would much rather have someone else figure it out for me.

Damn.. 3.47 here... philosophy is hard. Shoulda been a business major and netted a 4.0gpa with about 30 seconds of study time.
Plus partying every minute of every day of freshman and sophomore year resulted, as one can imagine, a pretty dismal GPA. Recovering that is not exactly a walk in the park.

I feel you on the tough majors. Taking Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics puts quite the burden on ones shoulders.

I tend to not study the hour or two before a test I start getting nervous and second guessing myself I find that if I study sufficiently the day before and just clear my mind the day of, I do better different for everyone though
