Azure timing with jars and dry verm layer

My jars should be fully colonized in a week or so. My question is when I add them to my bags of pre-soaked chips for my first spawn, should I dumped the cake/jar contents in the bag with the dry layer of verm and all or brush off that top dry layer and them add to chips? Thanks again

Well, the verm layer may have accumulated some contam spores, if you have holes in your lids without a filter, so if that is the case then yes, ditch the dry verm.
However, if you have micro-pore or tyvek, or a synthetic filter disk, then the dry verm should be fine.
Lastly, do you want to add dry verm to your bulk sub?
The dry verm will suck up any moisture it can, i.e. taking it from your sub.

Also, if those are rye jars of which you speak, they should be broken up before adding to a bulk sub.

ideally you would want to discard anything that may have collected contams but with azures its not so mauch a big deal as they are very robust and when fully colonized fight off the little buggers .. make sure u colonize to non conifer wood base .. another tip .. azures are reknown for their love of the outdoors .. try to use stuff from outside for your cultivating .. again .. rigorus sterilizing isnt necessary ..
