I just got back from having an MRI done

I just fell asleep, they woke me up for the injection halfway through, then I went back to sleep.

It was my first time, it was actually kind of cool

What about having a catheter inserted into your leg, threaded up an artery into your heart, around in a loop and back out your heart, then up your neck and into your brain. All so they can squirt some dye in there and take multiple x-rays of your brain.

My organic chemistry professor told us when we started NMR that they don't include the term nuclear with MRI because they're afraid it will scare people off. People actually know this right? Because I thought it was hilarious that he was trying to give us info that we already knew.

MRI's are easy. I had my first couple done about 7 or 8 years ago, for a study on mental health (I was a control patient). They were long ones...about an hour and a half each. The first one was easy, because I could fall asleep - which I did. It seemed like it took 15 minutes! The second one wasn't so much fun, because the guy was on the speaker every few minutes to keep me from falling asleep (it would have screwed up the results).

Now I have to get an MRI every few months :frown:
At least they aren't long (30 minutes).

Hehe...you stay awake the whole time they are doing it, too.

I got to watch them taking live video, via x-rays, of the arteries in my brain!

Ok, catheter to the heart beats induced cervical dilation.
I guess there's never a dull moment when you have a body...
