cracking caps

a couple of my caps are cracking even before the veil breaks and i was wondering if my case is genetic, because ive read usually the cause is low RH, but mines 90-93% all the time, with plenty of fresh air... could it just be the strain i have? by the way theyre tasmanians on a 2 inch sub of coir/coffee/gypsum spawned from rye, cased 50/50. thanks for the input and sorry for the blurry pic my cam sucks...

that isnt a humidity crack. the caps are just too healthy for their own good

Low FAE/R.H are the common factors of capped cracks but then you get the greedy mushrooms who do just as tahoe says, grow to big for their own good. lol, those puppies are gonna open up somebodies eye's
Have fun man
just thought i'd point out the capped cracks rather then fix it, lol.

yea i had mad cracking caps on my last mono. but they went from 2" er's to full blown adults it seemed in a couple days. my humidity was at 97% too.. so i think they just grew to fast for their little mushroom bodys. that is probabally what is happening to you to.

That isn't cracked caps above, it's split caps, caused by very rapid growth. It has nothing to do with humidity. RR

I don't know if it's typical for Tasmanians, but I guess it's simply a matter of good grow conditions and genetics, since you get that VERY often when you cultivate the "Z" strain.

yeah stupid walmart... i went through 2 and now this one works perfectly.. it only goes to 95%, but when it stops working its at 100%, and it will start working again at 90%... i bought a analog one just to be sure though... you can never go wrong with 'steam gauges'...
