The following are allegedly unretouched NASA photos:
Here is BigFoot, er, I mean a Martian from a distance:

Here she is close up:

I personally think a human flew to Mars and put on a monkey suit just to hoax us.

I can't wait until we start strategically introducing water onto Mars. You know, laying the foundation of an atmosphere... Perhaps we could calculate for the difference of the distance betwee the Sun and tweak variables to get some kind of sweet global beach, one of the most tranquil, peaceful planets everywhere... with marijuana plants growing everywhere....

Why can't anybody that finds cool stuff like this focus the damn camera? Somebody at NASA should be fired. It isn't every day we find alien life on another planet... usually we are the other planet and alien life is finding us. I bet they know how to focus a camera.

They have probably photographed a million rocks. There are bound to be a couple that look like monkeys if you don't focus the camera.

Saturn's day is just under 11 hours long. Also, a Saturn year takes almost 30 Earth years. Your statement should be "Saturn is inhabited by dragons that fly 11\207". (assuming 52 Saturn weeks in a Saturn year)

so there's 207 days in a Saturn weak.?
I multiplyed 365 by 30 and then divided by 52 and got 210 1/2.

This is about when some fool quotes Bowie
It's a God awful small affair To the girl with the mousey hair, But her mummy is yelling, "No!" And her daddy has told her to go, But her friend is no where to be seen. Now she walks through her sunken dream To the seats with the clearest view And she's hooked to the silver screen, But the film is sadd'ning bore For she's lived it ten times or more. She could spit in the eyes of fools As they ask her to focus on
Sailors Fighting in the dance hall. Oh man! Look at those cavemen go. It's the freakiest show. Take a look at the lawman Beating up the wrong guy. Oh man! Wonder if he'll ever know He's in the best selling show. Is there life on Mars?
It's on America's tortured brow That Mickey Mouse has grown up a cow. Now the workers have struck for fame 'Cause Lennon's on sale again. See the mice in their million hordes From Ibeza to the Norfolk Broads. Rule Britannia is out of bounds To my mother, my dog, and clowns, But the film is a sadd'ning bore 'Cause I wrote it ten times or more. It's about to be writ again As I ask you to focus on
Sailors Fighting in the dance hall. Oh man! Look at those cavemen go. It's the freakiest show. Take a look at the lawman Beating up the wrong guy. Oh man! Wonder if he'll ever know He's in the best selling show. Is there life on Mars?

The Mars Lady is: "obviously built by an ancient civilisation that later departed Mars and settled Denmark". People ACTUALLY believe this!
Personally, I think it's the Virgin Mary. If she can turn up on French toast, Mars should be a piece of cake.
Or maybe the human mind has an amazing capacity for filling in the blanks when information is missing... and for kidding itself when it wants something to be true.
This story would fit right in with the the M&P crowd!
--

The figure captured by a the Nasa explorer Spirit in 2004 is actually a mermaid statue, and is proof that aliens established Denmark, so the theory goes.
The logic for this outlandish explanation comes from striking similarities between the figure and a sculpture in Copenhagen known as the Little Mermaid.
The resemblance has been pointed out on Internet message boards and appears to be one of the many tongue-in-cheek explanations circling cyberspace with the most support.
The Mars statue was "obviously built by an ancient civilisation that later departed Mars and settled Denmark", according to Madurobob on the JREF message board.
Other bloggers have suggested the Martian figure may be the Virgin Mary, or alternatively one of the Sand People - or maybe a Jawa - from the Star Wars films.
Spirit, sent to Mars to capture images from the surface of the planet, is one half of a $820m (£410m) mission, along with its twin explorer, Opportunity.
It landed on Mars in January 2004 for a three month mission to search Gusev Crater, a rock strewn stretch of soil that scientists believe could be the bed of an ancient lake. If Mars once had surface water, it had the potential to support life.
Inspired by the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale from which it takes its name, The Little Mermaid statue was erected on the water's edge at Langelinie in the Danish capital in 1913.
The work of sculptor Edvard Eriksen, it has become one of the country's biggest tourist attractions and an unofficial national symbol.
According to her unofficial website, the mermaid sits on a boulder looking down into the sea, "dreaming about leaving the big sea to find her Prince and an immortal soul".
Or maybe a return to Mars?

Its the shadow on the corner of a rock that's close to the camera. You can't see the top of the rock because its the same texture and colour as the rest of the damn planet. Look closely at the picture. Its the corner of that rock that is knocked off and facing away from the sun. Making that one spot really dark.

There are plenty of SHROOMERITES that enjoy both forums, and there are plenty of M&P posters that have the critical thinking skills to differentiate between nonsense like this and authentic anomalies.
Some of us enjoy expressing our mystic and discussing more unexplainable phenomena without the usual hecklers.

My guess is because it's a NEW wacky idea. In a while, normal people will forget about it when the novelty wears off.
But if history is any indication, the conspiracy nut jobs will keep harping on it like they still do about the Face on Mars that was long ago debunked and nut jobs call a cover up. Just like Big Foot, UFOs, and all the rest.
And forgive the observation, but the Lady on Mars will probably resurface as a NASA conspiracy thread in M&P in a few months right along with the UFO cover ups and fake Apollo moon landings.

I agree, it sounds like child mentality.
In all honesty I just don't see how a group of people could make a crop circle as large and as geometrically complex and accurate as some of the ones that have appeared.

^^ This one here covers a total area of 636,172 square feet and has 400 perfect circles. It was created overnight in 300 minutes. I just don't understand how humans could create something so complex, accurate and massive in such a short amount of time. It just doesn't make any sense.

I just don't understand how humans could create something so complex
I don't understand how people can continue to believe crop circles are super-human when the guys who first started the hoax have demonstrated the construction of complex crop circles on camera using nothing but some rope to measure distances accurately and pieces of 2x4 to press down the plants.
And they did it at night, with no lights, and completed the work in a few hours.
You guys are so funny. And you think I'm out of line for pointing out this silliness when it's posted in M&P.

That someone can't imagine humans capable of making large, complex crop circles, speaks to that person's inability to imagine more than to the extraterrestrial origin of crop circles.

I agree that a large majority of it IS probably hoax. But still... to believe it is ALL hoax, it's still a belief and an assumption. My mind is open to anything man...

In all honesty I just don't see how a group of people could make a crop circle as large and as geometrically complex and accurate as some of the ones that have appeared.
What does your incredulity tell us about the alleged phenomenon?
I don't believe it was a super-human, a ufo, or a human. I just don't know anything. It's just bizzare.

But still... to believe it is ALL hoax, it's still a belief and an assumption.
So essentially, there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that can be shown to you that will convince you these things are made by people having fun. Even showing you the guys who INVENTED crop circles admitting that it was a hoax and making one in real time on camera isn't enough.
And you talk about open minds?
This is like insisting that, although the Tooth Fairy probably doesn't exist, it's possible that she's living in a nice condo on Mars. There is, after all, the missing tooth evidence.

I still refuse to believe.
"The work of the BLT research team (consisting of John Burke, William Levengood, and Nancy Talbott) has placed crop-circle research on a firm scientific footing. Of the 300 or so crop formations sampled and examined since 1990, more than 90% showed anomalous effects in plant tissues and/or the soil. During this period, three research papers have been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, establishing that the creation of many crop formations involves something much more intriguing than human pranksters with planks and boards. Sceptics have objected that much of the BLT’s work has not been conducted in a double-blind manner (so that experimenter bias might have influenced the results), but they haven’t been able to show that the anomalous effects in question can be produced by flattening crop by mechanical means."
"Stalks of flattened crop are usually enlarged and stretched, as if they have been heated from the inside. Sometimes this effect is so powerful that the node literally explodes, blowing holes in the node walls and spewing sap outside the stalk. Node expansion is not always entirely confined to plants within the flattened area of crop, as if some spillover of the energy involved has occurred. There are known mechanisms that explain an increase in node length after a crop is flattened, such as gravitropism (whereby a plant tries to straighten itself after being pressed down), but some studies suggest that this mechanism cannot account for node-length increases of more than about 20%, whereas increases of up to 200% have been measured in crop formations."

"Comparison of nodes within a crop formation (left) and from 75 feet outside it (right).
"Node elongation and expulsion cavities have been induced in plants in the laboratory by placing them in a microwave oven for 20 to 30 seconds. Microwave radiation heats the moisture inside the stem which, as it turns into steam and expands, either stretches the more elastic fibres at the top of the plant, or blows holes in the tougher nodes farther down the stem."

Did you watch the video? All those effects are explained. In fact, the original hoaxers get a kick out of so called "experts" who noticed "impossible" things that the hoaxers hadn't even been trying to do, but that were a natural, unwitting result of their technique.
I still refuse to believe.
Obviously.

I think most people who honestly believe in this sort of thing are just overwhelmingly bored with their lives, and so they reach for anything that seems fantastic and incredible to make their perceived reality more interesting. It's a sort of perverse fascination with the unbelievable.
They're looking in the wrong place; reality has infinite depth, infinite nuance, without blind leaps of faith that paint it over in a flat shade of gray.
