how fast are we really moving?
    #7916774 - 01/22/08 07:59 PM (16 years, 10 days ago)

say you're driving down the highway and wanted to know how fast your body is really moving through space. you would have to take into account how fast the car is going, how fast the earth is spinning, how fast the earth is orbiting the sun, how fast the solar system is orbiting the center of our galaxy, how fast our galaxy is moving in our local group.........where does this end?? if the universe is indeed expanding and is indeed infinite, just how fast are we moving? does the answer determine the pace of our time?

Quantum theory tells us movement is subjective. YOU'RE not moving, the UNIVERSE is moving AROUND YOU. Never forget that.

So if two cars run at different speeds on the same highway at the same time, it is really the universe moving around them... differently?
Also, when I'm walking do I instantly make the universe move around me? I TOTALLY kick ass.

All this time I've missed you

Here is true peace
Here my heart knows calm
Safe in your soul
Bathed in your sighs

Yes!  Thats why time slows down the faster you go.  But of course its a relative thing...:rocket:

The speed one end of the universe moves away from the other should be at least about 2xSpeedOfLight. But that even may not be max speed either.

Actually space expands much faster than the speed of light.
