Thanks anybody for any help =)
Maybe 12 hours of light a day on and 12 hours off might help. Just a suggestion, I'm new at this too. good luck

The light wouldn't effect the number of mushrooms you get. Although some people might disagree. Things like not having enough water, did you dunk the cake before the first flush ?

No, I did not dunk the cake. That in and of itself is likely a good reason for such a poor flush, tho I've read of folks not dunking and getting good results. To me it just seemed like I would prolly contaminate the hell out of my cake trying to do anything like that.
Good news is since I made a few changes to my terrarium (ie. adding more perlite and direct misting), I've got what looks like a decent second flush coming =)

Fully colonized BRF cakes are pretty contaminant resistant. Once the mycelium has its hold on the substrate, it makes it very difficult for competing spores to germinate and thrive. Soak those cakes for a day in regular tap water to give them plenty of moisture. Combined with misting and lots of perlite, your mushrooms should have plenty of water to work with.
