i was wondering if anyone has heard of what happens when someone eats shrooms that have been infected or contaminated when being grown?
just for example - brown mold, or the black pin molding.. what would happen if someone ate the shrooms that were infected during the run?
cant find any horror stories on that

I think if anything bad happened at all you'd most likely get some nasty food poisoning, like horrible vomiting, stomach pains, the shits, etc etc.
but the possibility is still real that it could be something really dangerous, but just not likely

yeah go for the tea: Hard to get the same potency though.
I think you could just PC them and kill most of the bacteria, then eat it. Just a newb guess- don't flame me =P

I disagree. A good tea extract with lemon juice can be very potent.

I am a Mold inspector/ Biocide applicator, I own New Tech Environmental, a remediation company. Most molds aren't pathogenic, cept a few. I wouldn't eat em if it had slimey black mold on it but other than that I wouldn't worry. Mycotoxins are metabolites given off by mold when it eats a surface but it is a gas so it wouldn't be fed into the shroom. If anything wash em good before you eat it but other than that I wouldn't worry. I have a compost bag with a lil green stuff that isn't trich and I am keeping em. The idea of tossing contaminated projects is so you don't get spores everywhere and wreck your other projects too.
