arrowhead spring water?

i've been using arrowhead spring water when making my BRF cakes.
last time, i used this water to hydrate a spore print. then, i used this water to make the cakes. nothing grew at all, and i left it for about a month.
is it possible there is some kind of preservative added to the water or to the plastic of the bottles?

well, i might have done something wrong. however, if i did something wrong, i'd expect to at least grow contams!
for the record, i didn't inoculate when the shite was still hot. i waited about 24 hours.
really, this has me puzzled.

I use the water from my sink, not even the purified tap just the same stuff I shower in and I've never had any issues. I highly doubt the water you're using is responsible for stalled growth.

my experience with water: distilled: perfect as long as you know what to add tap: horrible rain: great as long as ph and supplemets are takin into consideration pond: all depends but is far better then tap or rain well water from grandby co.... 8000 feet.... filtered by the rockies.... i have it shipped to me 1k miles away... regardless of what you use find a lake or some flowing stream anything that is a large body of constantly flowing source of water try it using a karo tek or wbs and see what works best

if your talking about water in brf cakes or water for your grains or wbs it doesnt matter what kind of water you use because you'll be sterilizing it anyways. i always use tap water for my grains and when i do an ocasional cake with no contam problems what so ever. i have some of the most horid tap water around.
now for hydrating sub and casing material i use 1 gallon bottled water from my grocery store because im only pastuerizing

best experience i have had is with spring water water from the tap it was probably snow melt from 200 to 300 years ago but when i used it i noticed a remarkable 50% reduction in growth times so ill say i sound like a commercial but again was a well on the back blank ranch in (edit) south of Rockie mountain southern entrance and no one is selling this water,,,,, just glad i got a bunch i stick to spring not bottled for everything i can and distilled for syringe trade and prints
