Also, there is a lot of controversy about leaving the holes open or closed .Which is it? and so on.Anyway is there any preventative measures as far as storing the jars i can take? One more question, if mold is in the jar, is it because of bad sterilization most likely or could it have happened after, I mean I'm only on day 5

How long are you pressure cooking? And what barrier do you have between the hole in your jars and the contents inside?
I use jars covered with tyvex filters (order tyvek cd sleves online) then lid with polyfill stuffed in hole and aluminum foil as a last barrier before going into the pressure cooker.

I would imagine you're using the PF tek method, correct? and if so, I would recommend covering the holes while pc'ing and leaving the lid a little loose, and leaving the holes uncovered after inoculation for much needed gas exchange. If you don't want to go that route, you could use micro-pore tape to cover the holes and will still allow for gas exchange.

Greenish, Blueish or Grayish hues in your cakes usually means mold. Toss it, jars are cheap and it's not worth the risk of spreading the mold.

Including the glass, not just the substrate, why would I do that, I can just alcohol it then sterilize.

Jars are relatively inexpensine, to me it's not worth the risk, just my opinion. If you do choose to keep the jars, boil them for at least 90 minutes.

That is the whole point of sterilizing. To destroy bacteria and other living organisms. To get rid of glass is ridiculous. For instance, If you have a bread box and have bread with mold in there, it is not required of you to throw away the bread box and possibly the kitchen counter. For one, most bacteria is dead when it's dry. Just leaving the jars out to dry after wetting may kill the mold spores.
PS. no one answered my original question, whether it was mold or not, but i found out it was.
HOWEVER, I do have another question. My PC has Low and High Pressure Temp and its electric. From what I've read, 15 PSI is usually the maximum setting except this one is electric an electric 6 qt that was a little pricey. What should i run it at and for how long? I've done numerous tests. All seem to work fine. The moldy ones might have been on low for 55 min though or it was injection contamination. Anyway, should I high pressure for 60 min?or 90 min low (which may cause to much water inside the jars) or what?

Yeah, sterilizing is the point, to kill any bacteria that may already be in the jars and substrate before inoculation. Mold spores are tricky and can quickly spread, onto you and lots of other surfaces, which could eventually lead them back to your incubator. But, it's your call. To answer your question, high for 60 will do the job. But low for 90 shouldn't cause too much water build-up in the jars. It's really your call, however long you want to wait.

I prefer the higher pressure for 60 minutes. The pressure forces the steam and heat into all those nooks and crannies where crud can lurk.I use mine like this and have very few casualties. Sorry about all your loss..that sucks!:(
