Congrats Eternal! Not to take away from your glory, but I can relate as well. I stopped on New Years too. You def. feel more invigorated and clear headed. I'm going to try not to indulge till Bonnaroo(if the lineup is sick).

I stop smoking weed for a single day I go completely nuts. Course I'm bipolar and need it. I had a girlfriend for about a week once and I stopped smoking cause she didn't like it. Yeah, I was sober, but I went euphoric manic till she dumped me (the bitch!) and I started toking again.
Besides, weed is good for you. It helps your immune system, fights cancer, etc etc... so why stop?

i think weed does something to your stress handle after years of smoking
one thing tho,it has no physical withdrawal symptoms after you go without a day or two
i think i was getting really pissed of at myself for making some other cunt rich mainly

well I haven't toked in like 4 months...and its really not that great. Eventually you will come to a realization that soberness totally sucks.
To those who get fucked up every day, I envy you. I wish I could do the same.
also that smoke a bunch at a time thing. take a month off seems ideal.

Sobriety and being stoned in no way are equals. Being stoned (or any high) is the retarded cousin of sobriety. Nothing is as versatile and adaptable, and functional in so many ways.

-i disagree there are many things i've learned from marijuana and realizations that were in no way less intelligent than sobriety.
if that's what it seems like to you, that's odd it can be used intelligently not just being a baked out teengager

Unless there's something wrong with you that is effectively medicated by THC, smoking pot for several hours daily is just about always detrimental.
For many people it lowers your energy level, memory, concentrating ability, motivation and initiative.
When I smoked daily pot that sure as hell wasn't true for me. Oh no, not for me. But once I quit for a year, it was clear as day that I've been deceiving myself. And many chronic potsmokers deceive themselves.

it can be used intelligently
Definitely. Once a week or less often. But daily pot, what this thread is about, is almost always detrimental unless it medicates something which is worse.

It is the sober part of you that had the realizations and learned from it. The same can be said of moderate alcohol use.
I'm not anti pot, I'm anti daily reliance on any drug. And I'm not anti-you, I'm just fired up at the moment
Trust me, if you've been stoned daily for years, once you've settled into sobriety it's like you're high on a low dose of psychedelic. Daily pot dulls the mind.

I've used pot daily for years at least three large bowls a day for a while.
I've recently been sober more often... weeks or months at a time and I find that it is much more difficult to relax in social situations and I am way less inspired during these intervals.
Three plus bowls a day was more than use, it was abuse... however, I think marijuana CAN be used daily, in moderation, for a personal benefit.
I CAN say that it is way better after taking a short break though.
I'd never give it up willingly, but a break now and then does some good as well.

I can see how if you've smoked weed regularly for years on end, your brain would adapt to find that the intoxicated state is the 'normal' way of functioning. So even if you quit for a month or better, you might still find sobriety feeling a bit off.
But I have to agree with almost everyone in saying sobriety is where it's at. Just because you aren't stoned, doesn't mean that you can't come up with new and original ideas. And when you do decide to cut loose and get a little messed up, you really experience that high again.

haha, this should be sticked for all the true believes that think bieng stoned all the time is fine.
I am jealous of you peeps, I am trying to come out of a bad binge that I had over winter break. I have the last bowl or two of my sack left and then hopefully no smoking all semester.
