This is the one that I use. It works perfect. I'm not sure where you're located, but if you have a petsmart in your area, it sure does beat waiting for it and paying shipping and handling.

Maybe I have the money to waste. Either way, It makes me happy to set it and forget it. Nothing to do but just pick and chomp.
It works for me and I love building things and coming up with new ideas, or at the very least expounding on old ones.. This is a Hobby after all. My best friend spends more on building model cars than I would ever spend on this hobby.

You need a 12 volt converter.
Maybe a variable speed fan could give you more control over air/fog mix.

A dry cell is an ole tymie big battery, but if you're plugging in the fogger, you're going to be near an outlet anyway, so nevermind. Besides, I like the variable speed fan idea.
Converters are probably $10-$15 or so?

If you use an air pump instead of a fan, you'll still get plenty of air exchange and you can put an air lock with peroxide if you want to only pump disinfected air. fizziks: it just works.

to run a computer fan you can use just about any ac adapter. you know those square blocks with the cord that you used to plug you gameboy into so you didn't have to use batteries. look for one marked 12v on it. cut the wires and attach the wires from your fan. plug in there ya go. if you want variable speed get one from radio shack with the switch for dfferent voltages. lower voltage is gonna give you lower speed.
