Your fine, the common green mold on bread isn't toxic to humans.
But just to be safe, remove a healthy portion around the mold.

Yep, what he said, and even our green mold found on mycology experiments i.e. trichoderma is not toxic to humans. You shouldn't go around eating the stuff, but your shrooms would be fine, just give them a good wash.

I've never seen trichoderma on bread before. It's probably penicillium, which is what the blue chunks in blue cheese salad dressing are. You can eat it if you can stand the taste. It's not toxic. Personally, I never open a bag of bread when I see mold inside. I don't want to release the millions of spores that would escape into my house by doing so. RR

i didnt even notice the green till i was slappin butter on the bread... i wonder if this is possibly the reason for the green in a couple of my jars? can penicillium infect a pf jar?
oh, and yea, i buy more bread... but i mean i was cravin that grilled cheese right then so i said 'fuck it'. i wasnt about to be walkin to the store, i jsut woke up. i just hacked that green shit off.
and bread is about 2.89 give or take here too... 79 cent loaves would be nice.

I have found that my food suffers more from disastrous grows than my grows suffer from disastrous food, but I expect it's a mutual.
At my old place, I couldn't keep any kind of bread good for more than a few days after a few pans got bad penicillium infections.

Why? Controlled fermented and 'spoiled' foods are great.
