Mycelium on Soil

I bought two San Pedros at Lowes that came in the same pot. The soil around the base of both specimens is growing white-yellowish mycelium. It smells just like good ole' mushroom mycelium.
My qiestion: Is it okay to just let the myc go through its course, or should I be concerned about the cacti? The mycelium is touching the bases.
Would a root-hormone/fungicide be safe to use if it was needed?

It probably waaaay to wet if mushrooms are growing...
The soil most hardware stores use is also shit.
Repot it with new cactus soil.

Agreed, pull them out of the pots they are in, wash all that crappy soil from the roots and repot them in a good quality cactus specific soil.

That was my first idea. Yeah, their soil is poor. The perlite is stained brown like coffee.

i have these 2 different hanging plants that grow mushrooms out of them almost every time i water it is cool shit, it is not that the soil is poor but it was drying out too quick so i just took a hand full of verm and threw it on top of the soil and mixed it with the top 1/2 inch just to hold more water than it was.
well it does not dry out as quick and i get these crazy looking mushrooms for almost a year now, also they are some of the biggest plants i have and they are supper healthy,:-)

yeah man no need to repot. myc is one of natures ways of breaking down dead organic matter. it is better to have that than mold doing it. mold will kill your roots but myc wont.

There are a few of my trich pots that have mushies in them, I have never got them ID'd. Yellow mycelium with little yellow balls scattered through the mycelium(might take a pic for comparison) I haven't noticed any ill effect on the trichs. Very bad for lophs though. I was away for a few days, came back and 1/2 of a 8yr old loph had turned to mush uprooted it and there was the yellow myc of death. It seems to come in the cacti potting mix around here, debco cactus mix is excellent but I have a feeling thats where it came from.
