I want the world to be ruled by a zero law Asimov style robot. There's no way I'm trusting a stranger who does not have my best interests at heart with authority over me.

One world government doesnt mean there is going to be one stranger ruling the planet. It could be any type of government... from one with massive separation of powers and checks/balances to the one feared by most of the posters here.

what about the U.S.?
Just because the world came under one government does not mean that it would become corrupt. The U.S. has a very low level of corruption. I am sure there are a lot of people who will disagree with that, but the U.S. is not corrupt. Ask someone from China, or Russia what they think of the U.S. government system. Just because you don't like what is going on with the country does not mean it is corrupt.
Really...
Yes, the U.S. empire will one day fall like all other before it, & tens of millions have been killed in its ascension & maintenance.
Not corrupt? I beg to differ. Just because we give our corruption (to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars annually) official & noble titles like the "War on Drugs" & the "War on Terror" does not mean it is not corruption; nor is it in any way morally superior to a Third-world despot who pockets money that is supposed to be used as humanitarian resources.
Handing tens of millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to large corporations to poison the ecosystems & people in rural Colombia, while millions in the U.S. lack adequate healthcare; that's corruption.
Handing U.S. taxpayer dollars to "defense" contractors to profit from the conquest of an oil-rich foreign nation instead of spending it (if you're going to take it in the first place) to pay off the debt your foolishness is increasing, as well as develop sustainable energy sources; that is also corruption, which the next generations are going to pay dearly for... not to mention the millions in Iraq & tens of thousands from the U.S. who have already suffered immensely from.
These are two example of greed & corruption that every Third-world despot can only dream of pulling off successfully.
Just because the government is not doing what YOU want does not mean that it is corrupt! Most of the things that you mentioned WE voted on!

that's part of the problem with one world government. more people under one rule, more people against it. that's why smaller government works better... more power to the people.
and to entheogenicpeace: just because china and russia are even more corrupt, doesn't mean we aren't. just because hitler killed more people than manson, doesn't mean manson isn't a bad person.

I did not say that you were the only one that opposes war and war profiteering! You were saying that our government is corrupt because of certain things that they have done, like go to war. Well I am sorry that you don't agree with that but the decision was in the hand of our ELECTED officials. Where the hell is the corruption in that?
Well that is the problem with giving the power to the people, the people are stupid.
I know that China, and Russia having more corruption than the U.S. does not mean that the U.S. is not. What it means is ask someone who has lived under a corrupt government and then ask them about our government (I have) it will give you a completely different outlook on our government system.

Yes I have asked too! I have a very good friend from russia and i'm aware of the corruption in both places. this still does not justify our corruption just because it's not as bad!

no, but I don't see any reason to. Our representatives tend to do what they say they will. When people voted for Bush they knew what they were getting. That is not how things work in corrupt countries.
Here is a quote from Tom Friedman from the New York Times, "I took part in a seminar two weeks ago at Nanjing University in China, and I can still hear a young Chinese graduate student pleading for an answer to her question: "How do we get rid of all our corruption?" Do you know what your average Chinese would give to have a capital like Washington today, with its reasonable honest and efficient bureaucracy? Do you know how unusual we are in the world that we don't have to pay off bureaucrats to get the simplest permit issued?"
