sry to those of u who keep looking over my posts and going, WHAT THE FUCK? but i feel the best way to learn is to ask those who have experience, and u all have experience i dont so here i am. LOL
NEWAYS can u get perlite that is too small. the perlite i have looks like it is smaller than most ive seen in pics. and some of it may fall through the strainer. is this still ok? i would guess so but just wanted to make sure.

Unless it's dust, the perlite is fine. its just going to sit in the bottom of your fc to provide some humidity.

thx again uve been pretty helpful, is it still ok when using an airstone, like the air will still travel thru the perlite, right?

yeah, the air will get through, just make sure you're not completely submerging the perlite. it only provides humidity when its moist, not underwater. you can always but the airstone in a glass of water in your fc along with the perlite.
good luck.

i cant put it in a jar cuz its too long, im gonna possition them (2) 14 inch airstones along the bottom of my 55qt tub fill about 3 or 4 inches deep with perlite, and add about 1 to 2 inches of water. im gonna put a submergible aquarium heater with thermostat in between the airstones. this is my basic plan of course ill see what happens with the humidity when i actually finish putting it together, prob a couple or three days before im gonna put the cakes in.so i can test the humidity/temp, to make sure its perfect for my babies, does this sound like a decent plan?? i hope so cuz im somewhat proud since its my first terrarium. but feel free to blow the idea to pieces. i know i cant go to wrong i basically followed the teck poor mans pod.

yeah, sounds like a typical PMP to me. Don't bother incubating the cakes in there, just stick those puppies in your closet if your room is 70-80 degrees. just monitor the temp and humidity for a few days then turn it off and wait until your cakes are ready.
Add some hydrogen peroxide to your water so it doesn't get nasty in there while you're waiting for incubation.
