Ok so I filled up like 4, 5gal buckets with some hpoo from my brothers house today. Here is the statement/question:
3 buckets were filled with poo that has been there for a few years. It looked and smelled like dirt. No foul odor, but it is wet because where my brother puts the poo, is right outside. It gets rained on, sunshine and everything. Now to my understanding, you want the poo to be dry because of any harmfull chemicals that could be in there from urine. But if this poo being wet because it came from the middle of a giant pile that has been there for at least a couple years. It is not wet due to freshness, but from rain and just general moisture content.
I also got one bucket full of poo from the field. This stuff was DRY. I mean, it is 18 degrees out and it is not even frozen because it is so dry. It was still in clumps, but BONE DRY.
SO with the buckets of poo I have, which would be best? The wet stuff looks like the compost you would buy from a garden supply store. It smells earthy, looks earthy. The bone dry stuff is just it, bone dry poo.
None of this stuff is less than 6 months old. What do you all think?

Mix it all up. When you pasteurize it or bring it to Field capacity then it will be rehydrate anyways. No worries all your poo sounds good. Maybe throw it out on a tarp to dry a bit if it really needs it.

Was the wet stuff stored and getting wet? If so then it wouldn't be leeched. But if it sat out for awhile then was stored it should be fine. I'd think anyway.
But if you have dry anyway why not just let the other stuff dry out and be sure?

Thanks for the replies guys/gals. The wet stuff was in a large pile. I dug to the center and got some of the darkest, fluffiest stuff I could find. It still have "clumps" in some areas, but was definately not fresh. The stuff from the field was just dry "clumps". Really light brown, and really light. I think I will do what Mystique suggested, mix it up and bring to field capacity. I got all of my stuff in order and will be making Tyvek lids tomorrow. Should be rolling in about a few days.
