A Compost bag I thought was lost!- cambos , I think
    #7905588 - 01/20/08 12:27 PM (16 years, 12 days ago)

I got a bad batch of compost bags and I was glad I didn't noc em up or I would have thought it was my fault....but anyway.... I had some wbs that stalled at 25% and it had been in my closet for 3 months. It was the worst smelling contamn I have ever had, not baccillus, at least not like the normal kind. So I threw the stalled wbs in there and tossed it back in the closet. I figured if I put it in the trash my wife would make me take the trash out. Anyway I forgot about it. I did it with 2 of them with 2 different stalled jars. The other has some green spots on the sides but they are small. These might be pans but I really hope not cuz they aint gettin any fresh air except what comes through the filterpatch...but the other was fully colonized. I realized a few days ago that the bag was folded but open so I peeked and it didn't smell bad anymore, just like mushies and it was very pleasant. I day or two later I saw pins. There are a few more today and what looks like a clump forming as well. I took a few pics the 1st and second day but the batteries are dead and I think I will leave it alone. I have 4 more but one has this yellowgreen mold that the other has. It grows slow and the myc does live with it fine, unlike trick that can cover a tray in a day or two. I don't have anymore stalled wbs to throw in...I had an experiment that I did with some wbs that never colonized cuz it was too dry. I opened it and poured water from the tap, shook it up and it colonized....so I have been playing with it to see if I can fruit it as a cake. I mixed in some brf cakes I made months ago.
