I was just about to trash it but.....
    #7904055 - 01/19/08 11:32 PM (16 years, 13 days ago)

I have never grew lions mane before so I was a little wery about the greyish mycelium. I glanced at a petri earlier today and thought its was contaming and I knew I wanted to get it away from the rest.
So i looked closer at it just now and it isnt contaming, its fruting.
Little spikes from the mane.
Hopefully this pic shows up

Hello tahoe,
i had the same signs when tried the RogerRabbit's (H.erinaceus) strain.

It really a strange kind of mycelium the H.erinaceus one, some zone are thick some zone no..

Just a question: which were been the times of colonization of that spot on the medium?

Thanks,
Fabio

Double or triple wrap the plate to prevent gas exchange. Once it uses the trapped O2, it will start growing faster.

I believe it wrapped with plastic film the petri..but he incubated the petri at room temp, here my petri on day 8, inoculed with H.erinaceus "RogerRabbit" strain on MEA, incubated at room temp:

As you see in the pics there are micro formation of primordia..

Fabio

ps. this strain is passed to the story: 72 days into a petri, lost in a unknown corner of the world between USA and Italy, and still viable!

Here's a strain I got from a massive mushroom I found that had fallen from a tree and split into sections on the ground. The strain is fantastic.

Right, MEA at 75 degrees though.

I chose that area because it had just started growing faint mycelium.
