I used PF tek to create 5 1/2 pint jars .. well two got contamned but the other three WERE growing nicely. I have to hide them so i decided to hide each jar in a sock, then put that sock in another sock, then hid the jars inside the fluff of very big couch pillows. Now, the temps in there probably stayed around 72 degrees since I heated them via hair dryer each day .. but now as each jar is about 75% colonized .. growth has stopped completely (and it has been a month) .. because of the limited air inside the pillows, and the double sock wrapped jars + tin foil over inocculation holes .. did I completely cut of air exchange ? If so .. is it possible for the mycellum to die before i transfer them to a more pleasant environment in my dorm room tommorow?

Yes, it sounds like you did. If the jars have a dry top verm layer, remove the foil and the tape and let them breathe. I would also stop using the hair dryer to heat up your jars. For one thing, that amount of heat is too extreme for your myc to handle and it's pointless to just heat the jars for a few minutes a day.

it actually sounds like one the stupidest ideas to date. Why the hell would you put them in that dirty ass couch pillows? take them out and put them in your sock drawer, under your bed, under your sink, in the kitchen cupboard. Anywhere but the pillows

weeellllllll... do not use the hair dryer.. they do fine at room temp... second.. why in the couch? I used to use my speaker boxes for my house speakers for an incubation chamber.. I just took out the sub woofer, and set my jars inside... very incognito mosquito....
you are not looking for fresh air exchange (fae), you are looking for gas exchange...
I have seen my jars stall because of too much moisture, too high of heat (because 8 years ago I used a heating pad without a way to control heat), etc.. but never had a problem with jars at room temp... thermal death is all bad... alot of cats just throw them in a cupboard without any source of heat, and they colonize just fine...
dont worry about turning them upside down.. that will do nothing.. just take them out of your dirty ass couch and set them in a closet or something.. its not hard to hide jars...
