Let's not stop there - we'll form an entire militia, and plant a custom flag out in the front.

MikeZ, please tell me you are kidding. Do a little research, before making completely unfounded scientific claims.
There are some people who have tripped hundreds - even thousands - of times, and are perfectly. You have to know yourself and your limits, but they can be almost perfectly safe.

MikeZ said: I realize this thread is old, but I wanna ask you guys that use LSD something. Do you really believe that LSD is safe just because there's no documented proof of it being unsafe ?
I understand it's not a toxic chemical and it flushes pretty quickly from a human body, but I think LSD has the ability to cause a brain to hurt itself by creating / removing certain natural chemicals in the brain causing a chemical imbalance.
Some things my close friends have described to me about their trips is just fuckin' horrific and some things seem relaxing. It leads me to believe that LSD trips are just like dreaming / having a nightmare while you're awake. ?
I believe it's physically safe.
I also believe I'm mentally stable so I am at low risk from mental risks that could be induced by LSD use.
Some things your friends have said may or may not be true. I encourage anyone who is willing to accept the "risks" to try it out on their own. People lie, even friends.
I have had people who know me and my experience and knowledge of LSD about how their best friend had a "bible of LSD and ran through a sprinkler then tripped for 3 days. They still aren't the same." That's just not true.
I've also had people who know that I know what I'm talking about tell me they ate "A whole sheet of LSD and I didn't stop tripping for three days." Considering the half life of LSD is not even a full day tripping for 3 days isn't even possible.
Edit: That said obviously things can go wrong. A trip can become difficult and if one isn't very experienced I don't think they should take heavy doses on their own. However a sober friend, even one that you can contact and summon over phone, can completely eliminate serious physical risks.

I am extremely inexperienced with LSD. While I have more mushroom experience and the two are similar, I am still inexperienced when compared to many of the members here. Many people would agree that mushrooms are harder to control and can get "darker."
My biggest single dose on mushrooms was 4.5 grams, and it was a very intense trip. The closest I got to physical harm from the trip was a point when I was in deep contemplation about pain (amongst other physical sensations) and it's reality and significance. To give a briefing: I understand the point of pain is to let your body know something is wrong. However I was a lacrosse goalie in high school, and that involves lots of voluntary pain. Pain that does not represent any true physical risk. I started thinking something along the lines of "If I were to take a hammer to my teeth it would hurt like a fucking bitch right now, but what would that pain mean? It would go away in hours, days, or weeks, and I would still be able to live. I could even use 'modern' technology to my advantage and essentially neutralize the negatives of having no teeth."
I was pretty far gone needless to say. However I still had the presence of mind to know that I shouldn't fucking knock my teeth out with a hammer.
I would keep in mind that there is the possibility that trip reports can either be intentionally or unintentionally falsified or exaggerated. It's no different than alcohol. How many times have you heard about how fucking drunk someone got and then did something fucking crazy? I'm guilty of that shit myself. Under the influences of such powerful substances people can misremember or misinterpret situations or actions.

Sometimes people's stupidity is almost unbelievable.
-------------------- “I have lived on the lip of insanity, wanting to know reasons, knocking on a door. It opens. I've been knocking from the inside.” - Rumi “The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of starstuff.” - Carl Sagan
