RR: perlite for terrariums, humidifiers for green houses?

Hey, while researching terrarium design I noticed that you felt strongly that humidifiers should not be used in terrariums. I am using multiple FCs and have a central humidifier unit attached to them. The FCs measure 3' x 2'x 10'' each. Due to the size of these chambers added up it seems like you could consider them a greenhouse volume wise. My humidifier is a container with a high output ultrasonic unit and high output bubble stones. The air from the bubble stones carries the fog up the tubes into the FCs.
Could you explain why humidifiers are a bad idea for terrariums? What are your views on ultrasonics/bubble generators?

3x2x10" is LxWxH correct. If so, that is hardly a green house. Barely a fruiting chamber. More like a very large tray.

Three terrariums are not a mini-greenhouse. My recommendations are to use 3" to 5" of well drained perlite for terrariums. Others disagree. Choose the method you're happy with. 10" height is too short for a terrarium anyway. You need more room to dissipate and get rid of the metabolic gasses. RR

Interesting, would this height be ok if there was enought FAE to move these gasses out? I calculated this height seeing as ~4" was the optimal substrate depth, which leaves 6" for the fruits. It seemed with a terrarium that was just big enought for fruiting it would hold humidity better and let me run the ultrasonic less.

When I think of terranium, I think of a self contained growing environment. Do you have a picture of what you're talking about? That would probably clear up a lot of speculation.
