Morning Glory harvest
    #7901629 - 01/19/08 01:01 PM (16 years, 13 days ago)

My Morning Glory is full of seeds. I estimate more then 500. I have been growing it for a awhile and now there are tons of seed pods and the look very dry. When I open them up there not as dry as the ones they sell in garden stores.
My question is do I leave them on the plant or take them off? I can provide pictures if needed.

If the pods are brown and the seeds are black, take them off and leave them in a paper bag or spread out in the open to dry before you pack them away.

If the pods are dry and crumbly, you are good to go.

Well I have some pictures now. When I open the pods the seeds are still mushy. I feel like they are not fully developed yet.

They look ready but as you can see some of them are still green.

Now some pictures of my cactus and Salvia.

San Pedro

Look good? I bought it with that pup on it. It has grown maybe 4 inches. Less then a year old.

Salvia

If the seeds are mushy I would leave them on the vine.

Oh I have no intention of eating the seeds. That is illegal in my country.

So what do I do? Leave them on the vine or start collecting?

ya leave em on the vine till they turn darker and the outside shell should crack easyly and the seeds if left in it long enought will dry also.

i had a huge infestation in my back yard last summer.this was early summer, it climed the whole fence and went around my whole yard and i was picking morning glory sprouts up all damn summer.
