Backpacking along the coast? (Cali, Oregon, and Washington)

This spring I'll be doing a huge trip across the coast, then maybe other parts of the U.S., depending on my funds after I hit up Washington. I'd like to do a lot of backpacking on this trip as well, multiday through hikes and such.
If anyone on the westcoast is interested in joining in on a hike or two, or more, feel free to let me know, I could use some company, as I don't know if my roadtrip buddy can go on this one. Also I'd love to see some of the secrets of the coast that only the locals truly know about.

Give me a shout when you're near Seattle, and I'd be happy to join you for a hike/backpack. I'm fairly new to these parts, but I've already done a few nice hikes in the lower west Cascades. The Olympics are beautiful too, but this time of year its pretty damn snowy. I'm also a bit of a photographer like you, and WA is a very photogenic state.
Also, I just finished a road-trip from San Fran to Seattle up 101 over 4 days, so if you want some suggestions, I have many. Not really "local" hotspots per se, but cool nonetheless.

I'm thinking of skipping a lot of so-cal, I don't know if I want to visit the desert. It's beautiful, but I want to put together a gallery of mushroom photographs. Might hit up big sur and go up north from there.

If you have to ask, you don't want to know.

You should do some research on the Pacific Crest Trail... One trail... Goes from Mexico to Canada... You will meet LOTS of amazing people taking the same journey as you if you take that trail.

PCT is nice but I'm looking for more one that goes right along the coast rather than through the sierras. I hike the PCT a lot, that would be one I'd have to plan multiple years for.

there is the CCT (california coast trail) that goes along the coast from north to south.. Make sure to hike the lost coast when you get up to north mendocino/south humboldt counties - its absolutely beautiful.
