At which age it right for me to tell my child that in my personal opinion the human race has fucked up, which doesn't necessarily make it so?*

When should you tell that the egg of their breakfast was produced by a feathered concentration camp inmate?
When to tell them that the mangled bodies of these tortured chickens, and the organ meat of her own calf, end up in the feed pellets fed to the cow?
I'm tripping and I'm at a loss. At which age is it right to tell your child that we fucked up?

i dunno i mean i guess i would tell them when they started asking... i just personally wouldn't wanna have one of those kids who would stare at kids eating lunch at school being like "do you know what they did to that?"
plus i mean kids eat so much crap outside of meat that i dunno.. it's almost like let the kid come to that decision for themselves... i'm 21 and am just not starting to wonder about the food i eat and have started eliminating things from my diet... only now have i really started to take it somewhat seriously... and realize how certain foods make me fell.. and how i should feel after a good meal. how old is your kid?

Right after his/her very first baby seal clubbing. They will be cold and exhausted from swinging the club and they will appreciate the fact that the ease and low cost of food procurement is one of the great blessings of modern man.

no kidding. there used to be a vegan forum on a website that I used to go to and they had really obnoxious arrogant stupid assholes on there.
they all used to say how humans aren't biologically supposed to eat meat. yeah right, our closest relatives the chimpanzee eats meat.
many of them are also PETA supporters (Fuck PETA)
some people don't eat meat because they don't like the taste of it.

take them to farms so they can see what it is like. Very good experience for children.
now you have a viable idea, but it's not just for kids, adults need to know a bit more as well, through the years I've heard people talk about organic foods and factory farms, you might be shocked to learn that the vast majority of organic foods come from the very same conglomerates that they are protesting.
The only way to really know what you're eating is to see it grown, you can grow it yourself or just get to know your farmer. Look into community supported agriculture, keep your money local, where it's needed.

I agree with you. I do like to support the local farmers market. I also believe that buying organic is a better choice and a step in the right direction.

over the last few years I'd been debating on organic certification, I finally came to the decision not to do so, my problem is that with crops you're allowed many chemicals during the growth, theres allowances for genetically modified plants/seed, and each day companies like Monsanto, Con-Agra and HJ Heinz are petitioning the FDA for new additions to the approved chemical list for organic ag use dont trust in things labeled organic, you still dont know what you're getting

I understand and it is a shame we have to be so careful about our food. My husband and I also looked into getting an organic certification and it is a bit of a racket. I have seen some documentaries about companies like Monsanto and that too is disturbing.

our teeth are perfectly designed for OMNIVOROUS diet. which means we are survivalist eaters. we CAN eat almost anything. we CAN digest most things, at least parts of most things. does this mean we should? no. does it mean you can eat anything you want? yes.
it also means that diet is YOUR decision. yes there are healthier things to eat, eat whatever you want, it all depends on just how healthy you want to be. some are willing to sacrifice and become vegans, some vegetarians, some mainly meat eaters. whatever. eat whatever the fuck you want and let others eat what they want. we were designed to eat anything organic.
