Okay, first I will present what my current plan is.
I'm basing the project off of the "From syringe to print using rye" - [http://www.shroomery.org/8432/From-syringe-to-print-using-rye] guide. I ordered the "Ralphster's Choice Special" which includes the following strains: B+, Ecuador, Cambodian, Panama, Puerto Rican, and Argentina. I felt that this was a good deal because most if not all of those strains are good for beginners, and if I fail the first time I have more ready to fix what I might have done wrong the first time.
I plan on growing in my basement as soon as I can get everything ready. It is roughly around 60F in my basement depending on the weather this time of year.
I need help with the fruiting chamber. My first time around I plan to only use one syringe [10cc] so it doesn't need to be huge. I cant seem to find good information on a good fruiting chamber for casings. I don't want to use the one in that guide because it is too big. I'm trying to make it as little obvious as possible. After Incubation is it possible to transform the incubator into a growing chamber since my basement is cold [Use the fish tank heater and water as a way to keep the FC warm enough]? Or is that totally a bad idea? That is my main focus, figuring out the chamber. But I have a few questions about other Small things.
1. Is it okay for water droplets to drop onto the top casing layer? I ask this because your not supposed to let it drip onto cakes if your not doing casing.
3. I'm not really totally on top of the whole fanning idea, could that be cleared up for me? To my knowledge its just air exchange inside the FC.
4. One question about inoculation. Is heating the tip of the the needle with a bic lighter alright, or would alcohol be better. Is it possible for the heat to kill any of the spores? If the lighter leaves black stuff on the tip, [mentioned in one of the documents on the site] does it need to be wiped off?
5. Are there any chemicals used for sterilizing the work area that are nonos that can cause trouble? [Lysol, Oust, Bleach, Etc.] Recommendations?
If I find any more questions Ill post. Ill deff make a journal of my progress and if successful ill post.
Thanks for anything i receive. -Pukgandi

Way too many questions to answer For a fruiting chamber, I recommend checking out a few different kinds under the "Boxes" section of the cultivation archive: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/postlist.php/Cat/0/Board/58
If you don't know the answers to the basic questions you're asking, then you haven't read enough to get started yet, especially with casings.

Or is that totally a bad idea? That is my main focus, figuring out the chamber. But I have a few questions about other Small things.
1. Is it okay for water droplets to drop onto the top casing layer? I ask this because your not supposed to let it drip onto cakes if your not doing casing. Actually when someone i know does cakes, he really wets and saturates cakes purposely during fruiting and that really helped him create some MONSTER fruits, as he has learned that shrooms being 90% water love water. and he says also allows some water to condensate on the casing layer. its called near saturation where theres a glistening shine on the casing layer. but doesnt allow water to pool on the casing layer as thats bad. and creates a big wet spot.
LOL YOU FORGOT #2
3. I'm not really totally on top of the whole fanning idea, could that be cleared up for me? To my knowledge its just air exchange inside the FC. Yes Fanning is to provide air exchange as wind does in nature. it get rid of stagnant carbon dioxide and brings in fresh Oxygen. it does noting to affect moisture within the FC.
When i do edible shrooms in PF Cakes, i flame the needle tip and RIGHT AWAY shove the red hot needle into the jar. (The tip gets instantaneously cooled by the substrate and the first drop of solution)i find it works much better than waiting for it to cool off in open air or in alcohol. or maybe im a cheap ass and dont wanna buy alcohol. Most people do the flame and wipe part, but i find it unneccessary.
5. Are there any chemicals used for sterilizing the work area that are nonos that can cause trouble? [Lysol, Oust, Bleach, Etc.] Recommendations? everything is ok, but dont spray lysol or and aerosol all over a confined space like a glovebox and then spark a light, youll spontaneously combust lol.
on another note, IM A BIG FAN OF BLEACH WATER. i just fill up an old windex bottle with 10%bleach and 90% water (1:10) its safe to spray EVERYWHERE and very liberally. i spray all into the air all onto surfaces and into the glovebox. its very effective and VERY CHEAP and is not flammable and doesnt smell more than lysol would nor burn your eyes or throat.
If I find any more questions Ill post. Ill deff make a journal of my progress and if successful ill post.

This is exactly what I do.. you can control the amount of humidity by drilling lots of holes and covering and uncovering as you need to maintain humidity... I literally leave the cool mist running 24/7.. I never have to fan, mist, etc... you can actually do this with up to 4 tubs..

since your basement is so cold, try a TiT with perlite and a cool mist.. then you should never have to do anything to it, provided you prepared your casings and substrate correctly and you drilled enough holes to regulate the RH... I like to use a heating pad with a rooting mat thermostat (available at all hydro shops) to regulate heat.. it has a remote sensor that goes into the fruiting chamber, and you hook it up to you heating pad or fish tank heater or whathaveyou...
