depending on the definition of "God"
I believe in an energy that you cannot hold on to or let go of, yet it is intertwined and is wound around and within every biotic and abiotic 'it/thing' imaginable.
Many people think they have to go somewhere or talk up some type of religion to find 'this' but the whole idea of finding something that you have no idea of is futile. It's not as if you're going to stumble across some ancient ruins that you'd be able to recognize from something you've seen in the 'past'.
The only way to find it is through yourself. And it's so new to anyone who experiences it that it surpasses explanation by words. And for that, it is wonderful.

everyone keeps saying there must be a god because what caused the big bang and blah blah blah....
well here is a concept that is hard for us humans to understand:
what if the earth, the universe, and everything else has always been around, an infinite universe.
why do you guys assume someone had to make it? if it's always been here there wouldn't have to be a creator.

10. (used to express disappointment, disbelief, weariness, frustration, annoyance, or the like): God, do we have to listen to this nonsense?
yageman, i love how people who are ex-athiests suddenly "see the light" and think you have to be more intelligent to believe in something rather than believe in nothing.
you science guy you.
i'm not saying i have all the answers but i can tell you what god isn't.
when you pray, god isn't listening to you. when you curse, god isn't going to damn you to hell. when you die, god isn't going to decide where you spend eternity.
fact is, a god like that doesn't exsist. god could be a metaphor for the sun, for nature, for many things. but sorry to say a 'loving' and 'forgiving' god does not exsist, and most likely when you die, that will be the very end.
so enjoy your imaginary friend.
well im gona interject something about this here. Well maybe praying to something non existant doesnt do anything but, if you give prayer to some one or energy via rieki over long distant it can be felt or vibes. If i can trip on ayahuasca and my friend in alaska can feel it cause im sending her vibes or my friend in CT and vise versa, then its not to far off to say that there is a collective net thing or web of energy. energy healing is a very real thing, feelings and thoughts can be sent via i dunno what to call it over distances. and if you want to say it doesnt explain what all people experience and myself.

I can't answer yes or no.
I was raised a Catholic, but always questioned everything my young, influencable mind was fed. I think that's the thing I am most grateful for in my life - my ability, and passion, to question everything.
It has this that brought me to settle upon Taoism, for its sheer logic and reason. The universe is perfect the way it is, and its course will be taken according to its stipulations. There's nothing you can do about it, and there's nothing you SHOULD want to do about it - because there's no stopping it, and it's beautiful.
I do not believe "God" would be anything the human brain could comprehend - this is why you see so many religions where God is given human characteristics. This makes no sense to me.
I don't understand why humanity has to be so god damn presumptuous and stubborn about their beliefs. They are called beliefs for a reason - it's something you cannot know, because it is beyond human comprehension. You cannot know because you're hard-wired into a human body, which constantly needs more.. and more. You aren't meant to understand it. You're given the choice to bask in its beauty, be grateful to be a part of the circle of life, and celebrate the wonder of consciousness... or be the part of humanity which gives into the darkness of their own souls, and advocates the apathetic destruction of Mother Earth.
Just another organism consuming, and ultimately being consumed by its own over-consumption.
We will consume ourselves. And this "God" will never make an appearance, because it is a universal faceless energy that spreads so far beyond humanity that it would not find us important enough to manifest itself into a human (Jesus, etc.) to give us a message. As if anything would weigh more in importance to God- that which everything is.
It's messages are beautifully subtle and only the best observers can pick up on them.
It is undefinable.

Aaaaaaand god could mean anything to anyone. Soooo...
If you really believe this then there is still time for you to experience a true, genuine psychedelic experience.
How could any discussion of God not belong here?

I believe in a collective consciousness. =)
Not sure if that qualifies as a "god"

i hit yes, but its not "god" as in an actual diety, more like a force. Aum is the best way to explain my concept of 'god'
