Decision making
    #7897431 - 01/18/08 01:32 PM (16 years, 14 days ago)

Pretty simple, life demands certain things out of us as beings. There is two different paths you can take on the following subject. For instance you can make a willingly decision to strong mentally and physically or you can
Quote:

unwillingly

make a decision to fail or further yourself from your goals in life. It is kinda funny how some people just sit back and act like life isn't even passing them by.

They are still choosing to make the decision to live a certain way wither they realize this it or not. Life is what you make it....I heard this from some many older people as a child and now I am finally realizing that it is so true in so many different ways. Just a quick thought before I go to work, any thoughts?:mushroom2:

Fundamentally I agree with you, life is what we make of it.
But there are a few things I would like to point out.
Life doesn't "demand" anything.
And you can't say that you made a choice in an unwilling manner. It's a contradiction, since decision making automatically implies agreement.

All this time I've missed you
And searched this human race
Here is true peace
Here my heart knows calm
Safe in your soul
Bathed in your sighs

Right, i agree. I guess the point I am trying to make is that people seem to fall into patterns all the time. Including a long list of different behaviors and addictions, I believe that this 'form' they have taken is not their true selves. I dunno maybe its just me opening up on the inside.:tongue2: I am starting to think that their are only two types of people on a certain level....you are either strong or weak.:sunny:

Pretty black and white thinking IMO and unrealistic too.  We are all a mixture of strength and weakness.

As far as a "true self" goes I doubt that your patterns are not a part of that self also.

I agree with Icelander on this. I think people are too complex to be labelled as strong or weak. The strongest person you'll ever meet could have one fatal flaw that makes them "weak" in your eyes. For some people, it takes a ridiculous amount of strength just to get out of bed in the morning. At the very least, it's impossible to say if someone is strong or weak, because no one knows what everyone else has to face everyday mentally, emotionally and physically. You can't really base someone's strength off of their behaviors, or how much they accomplish in a day.

The Nazis used that ideology a lot.

its because humans are too smart for there own good, we have lost contact with our animal ways, (like being outdoors, hunting, that sort of thing) so lots of people dont know what to do with there lives. life is about survival whether you enjoy it or not is up to you

we have lost contact with our animal ways, (like being outdoors, hunting, that sort of thing) so lots of people dont know what to do with there lives.

Good observation.

That's were materialism comes in. Most humans are bored bored bored and their solution is "busy work". This is why many folk have trouble with retirement.
