is there a difference between cow dung and horse dung? is one better then another? I have access to both.. there is many cow feilds and horse feilds just outside my city..

also when is the optimal time to get the shit? I see lots of feilds have huge piles of it.. i remember asking the farmer at a feild how long the pile has been building up and he said over 25 years..

so do I want old stuff or newer stuff?

horse dung is generally better in my opinion, it has lots of undigested grasses such as hay which is great for mushies. Cow dung is damn good too but one should really add some sort of grass such as hay or straw, but you dont have to. The older the better on dung goes across the board. If you get it wet you won't grow shit from it. Make sure its dry all the way through. Also trying doing alittle research before you post...your questions have been answered millions of times over.
