im in london, i cant seem to find a good dumpster anywhere. when i first got here, i found the best one id ever been to, an organic health food store, and it would be BRIMMING with marinated tofu, soy milk, juice, veggies, tofurky, all sorts of stuff (oh and tons of dead animals). but i dont think they liked us getting to "their" garbage. we WERE neat though and always left the place looking better then when we got their. ill keep looking though. maybe somebody could inspire me with stories of there spots around the world. i just don't know if i can go on

true, their exists dumspters out there with nothing but pure breads, etc. i dont see why this food is out of the questoion though unless its gone off, or their is definite spoilage, or some nasty juice all over it (like dead animal blood). it does take a while getting used to though.

its fun to go around a chain store damaging merch and then checking the dumpster. if your blessed to have a chain dept. store like target where they don't have those mega crushing bins (still looking on how to get in them if anyone knows, fill me in) and getting stacks of CD and dropping them in the trash can.

Check out the local Starbucks. I know from speaking to an employee at Starbucks that they do not donate or give away any of their leftover food. They must throw it all out at the end of every evening.
Many brownies/pastry items as well as sandwiches still wrapped very well in plastic wrap.

bunch of haters!
if i see something decent or in good shape sticking out of or near a dumpster, i will not hesitate to grab it. for instance, someone threw out a sweet ass wicker porch chair, im guessing because it was faded and just looked old, a quick sanding and coat of lacquer and BOOM! $40 in my pocket

My dad is good friends with the guy who made that doc, really crazy how well they live down there.
And no i dont dumpster dive, but i do get scrap wire that i strip for the copper. At $2.49 a pound, you can make some cahs quick by running around construction sites, and grabbing all the cut off wire.
I also live in the sticks, and all the dumps and landfills strictly enfore no scrounging.

star bucks could be a good hit, i even have one a hundred yds away, but i have NO idea where there dumpster is! i keep looking. fuck it, tomorrow im just going to ask them. i know you can hit up Noahs bagels (in the bay at least, there was a couple) for freebies, my house mates and i called them telling em we're a non profit student housing (which we are) and poof..... trash bags of bagels and pastries, all just a day old. we'd take turns going to get em once a week (we're a BIG house, about 50 of us in the summer, and we still had more then we could handle). lol, i had a motorcycle and i used to stack up either my huge ass messenger bag or my REI travelling pack and ride off, that shit almost cause me so many accidents!

Yea, my brother is an electricin, so he saves all of his scraps. But basically look for loose wire that has been discarded, dont DONT take wire that has been installed, one thats asshole, and two you could get zapped. Look for just normal power wire, if you cant figre it out, leave it alone, lol.
But just remeber, if you burn the sheath off, you will get a much lower price, like if you didint take the plastic off at all. Just strip it with a knife.
I got a pile of wire the other day, stripped it all in 5 hrs, 16 lbs of copper $39. if i hadent or had burned it off maby 10-15 bucks.
Just dont steal from installed wire or aluminum, thats just mean.
